"The Pain EP" includes the album version of "The Pain" from "The Sun Is Melting", Key Members Of Parliament's "Shiny Plastic Rocket Mix" produced in February 2007 (KMOP is Stephen's electronic side-project), and an early alternate version of the song recorded back in May of 2005. The early version was originally a song called "Don't Tell Me", which Stephen wrote back in 2002, and includes a never-before-heard 2nd verse.
There is also an early version of "June", which was re-recorded in 2007 for "Sounds of the Countryside". Finally, this EP contains original demos of "42 Days" and "Survival".
