Remixers, DJs, and Bands from all over the world lend their passion and inspiration to further expand on the already diverse soumd of Collide. From chunky guitar versions, to slithering lounge stylings to deliriumesq versions that are sure to hit the dance floor. This CD also contains three new covers, including the very poinant "The Lunantics are taking over the Asylum" by Funboy 3.
Some very special guests including Charlie Clouser formally of NIN, Rhys Fulber of Conjure One/ Delerium and Mike Fisher of Machines and Loving Grace/ Amish Rake Fight, lend their talents to "VORTEX"

Excellent Remixes of Some of Collide's Best Songs
author: JonI'm not a huge fan of every remix on the two CD set, but there is more than enough excellent stuff on here to keep you happy.
One of the most visionary bands in this scene
author: Florida TranceCollide surpasses all expectations of this scene, with this album. Superb mixing, sound design, and musicianship "collide" into utter beauty.
Collide mixes things togeather perfectly on this cd
author: www.GreatIndieMusic.comGreat job on this cd. Keep up the good work!
One of the most important modern gothic bands around
author: Florida GothicThis album doesn't disappoint during a single moment of its existance. This is one of the most important modern gothic bands around, and this cd is proof of that statement. Haunting, beautiful, dark and seductive. Beautiful female vocals are enriched by the cutting edge programming of electronics. If there is one cd your going to buy this month, make it this one.
As good as remixes get
author: ZimzikiRemix albums as a format tend towards fragmented and incoherent conceptions (for one thing, because of the numerous contributors typically involved)of the original tracks, becoming collections of separate remixes rather than albums. Vortex cannot quite avoid going down this road, but the ride is still a VERY nice one. The new material and covers spread over the two discs is very promising indeed, and I admit I would have been pleased with the album on the strength of those tracks alone. As it is, most of the remixes are worthwhile as well, with Conjure One's mix of "Tempted" and the Sensory Gate Aura Mix of "Halo" standing out as some of the best remixing work I have EVER heard. The only "real" problem I have with Vortex, aside for it not being a studio album with all-new material, is the inclusion of a few too many remixes of certain tracks. FIVE mixes of Crushed? FOUR of Wings of Steel? That aside, Vortex is about as good as I think a remix album can get. 4.5/5
awsome cd

Haunting
author: AnnieOverall, thsi CD is great. It's got haunting vocals and melodies. There are many great remixes of great songs. The only problem is the length. The love that there are so many songs, but some of the songs are almost 8 minutes! The trick is to end it when the audience is left wanting more. Other than that small facttor, however, this CD is great. My favorite track is "Lunatics are Taking Over the Asylm" I'd reccomend this CD to anyone who loves electronic rock.
Good remix album of a GREAT band....
author: Matthew HicksThis CD is kind of hit and miss. Some are really great, some are not so great. Having heard the originals first may have skewed my view a bit. Collide is one of my favorite bands that give me energy. I use this music when I am kickboxing or working out at the gym. When this album does right, it does really right. But some of the remixes aren't very good. Luckily there are so many songs on it that it makes it totally worth it.
