This album was a collaborative effort by members of a grassroots not-for-profit organization called the Ivywood Collective. The Collective's mission is to improve the quality of life in the community through idea sharing, cooperation, music, and art. The two bands featured on this record are Rockinwood and The Leavers who came together to record all the tracks in two days with the help of the Collective. Both bands are from Athens, Ga. and share members Mike Walliser(guitar) and Owen Hunt(vocals). Other members of the Leavers are: James Cowart, guitar; Eric Dawson, drums; and Jeremy Beck, drums; while Rockinwood's lineup is rounded out by Danny Coulter, acoustic punk rock guitar; Whit Hawkins, bass; T.J. Machado, bass; and Nick Lacis on drums.
These two bands hail from Northeast Georgia and are not scared to serve some straight-up, in-your-face Rock and Roll. This album is extensive and ranges from empowering to offensive, funny to deep, and witty to controversial. Yeah, maybe there should be a parental advisory on the cover, but the Collective believes in freedom of speech. This record is raw and uncut, and serves to prove that Rock and Roll ain't dead yet. Collect THIS.
