notes

This album features musicians from Eric Clapton's Band(Henry Spinetti-drums and Dave Bronze-Bass) as well as Memphis' Hi Rhythm player/songwriter Mabon "Teenie" Hodges on second guitar.

Teenie was all over those 70's Al Green records and lends his percolating funk grooves to this album as well.

It is a superb collection of blues, rock and funk-infused RnB that will set your pulse and feet tapping.

It respects the past while looking to the future, pushing the envelope towards a "Blues for the 21st Century".

If you like your blues flavoured with soul-funk-rock-n-roll, then you will love this album.

Thanks and Peace!

  • Sexy funky blues and rock n roll, slick guitar!

This is a really cool album- not your usual 12 bar blues. The songs have a really nice sexy feel to them, the band sounds great(it should-it's Eric Clapton's rhythm section!). Especially good are the tracks Oleta Jones and Venus Rising, which sound like Jimi Hendrix' soul-inflected guitar might sound today if he were still around. The album has an overall RnB feel to it. It has become one of my favorite Cds to play in my car-great travelling music! I would recommend this (and have!) to anyone.
