notes
Recorded live at The Hell Blues Festival in Hell,Norway, this 10 song disc captures the essence of a smoking power trio playing incendiary blues rock to a wild Scandinavian blues audience.
The album features Colin John on Guitar and Vocals, Bill Troiani(Popa Chubby Band) on Bass and Texas Twister, Kenny Lance on Drums.
Here is a review of the album, from Scandinavian Blues News:
"Colin John and his Band really set the blues on fire; his playing is red-hot and his tone reminiscient of Jimi Hendrix and SRV.New York Bassist Bill Troiani and Drummer Kenny Lance lay down a rock solid rhythm, driving the music forward in a solid funky manner. Any fans of live Jimi, Gary Moore and SRV will love this disc." Per Olssen
"Ferociously entertaining funked up RnB"

author: Desiree DouglasThis might have to be one of the best live albums ever! Rockin' kick ass guitar licks, incredibly tight bass and drums backing it up and Colin John's vocals can't be beat!! Everything about this concert is absolutely smokin'! It doesn't get any better than this. Treat yourself to Live from Hell today. If you love your rockin' blues, this album is simply heaven!!!
Some of the most smokin' liquid blues rock guitar I have ever heard!
author: Pete BamptonThanks to CD Baby I stumbled across some of the most smokin' liquid hot funky blues guitar that I have ever heard! Colin's playing has the viseral bite of Albert King, the wild exuberant funk of Hendrix, and wailing inventive fretmelt of SRV, but he's got something beautifully abandoned and fresh that's all this own. Buy it and fly with it!
Red hot blues-rock guitar, great vibe
author: Ed WebberI bought this album at a Colin John Band gig in Kona, Hawaii this past January when they were supporting John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers. This is a great live cd that represents what a smoking guitarist and his trio get up to when they are on fire.Really good solos, tight ensemble playing and great songs(original through Al Green and Jimi Hendrix!)If you liked Hendrix,"Band of Gypsys" or SRV,"Live Alive", you can add this to that list.Highly recommended!
