Get Out On The Floor
“Music makes me feel like getting out on the floor and dancing,” says Victor Cruet, the mind behind JaimieCole, “especially house, DnB and hip-hop.” And it’s his goal to make the listener feel exactly the same way with these distinctively danceworthy musical stylings. “It’s a sudden burst of emotional energy from within.” And therein lies the key to JaimieCole’s songwriting. Cruet doesn’t just go for moveable rhythms; he puts real emotional impact into the songs, pulling the fan’s strings on every level, inspiring dance floor mayhem with music that cuts to the bone.
What Are You Passionate About?
The key, says JaimieCole, to making music that moves the listener, is for the listener to feel the artist’s passion. It must be contagious. And the only way the listener will feel it is if the artist is feeling it, too. “Create what you’re passionate about.” By transforming inner drive to a musical manifestation, JaimieCole pours passion into the audience, which promptly pours into the dance space and sends up a rhythmic chant to the dance gods, thanks to the sacrament of this artist’s songwriting.
Audience
JaimieCole looks directly to the audience to find inspiration. His focus is always on what will set the mood, build the atmosphere, make the audience feel the vibe. “As a DJ, my audience influences me. The setting I have in mind from parties and raves I’ve been to or spun at influence me.” JaimieCole absorbs the feeling of the dance floor, filters it through his own spirit and sends it back out in an explosion of beat-driven aural pleasure.
The Artist at Work
JaimieCole describes his creative process: “I’m in the process of writing house, techno and DnB. I sometimes have this image of a huge warehouse full of big sound and tons of people. I then start to focus on the sounds that I would love to hear a DJ spin and see people dancing to.” Cruet is putting this creative process to work on a mix CD and has also announced that his first album – “Noise” – is nearly ready for release. It features five tracks of different genres. “Encounter” captures the ambient flavor, “Feel” is hip-hop rooted, “My Way” tackles jungle and DnB elements, the titular track is of the tech-house variety and “In My Head” is a techno-tribal masterpiece. He is currently working with A&R Select, the leading A&R firm in Hollywood, CA.
