notes
Coldtrail music is the hottest new Southern Rock sound that has hit the Ozarks. The band started in 2006 when Gabe Koop, Nathaniel Maddux and Kyle Burnett started playing music together in the Kelce dorm lounge at College of the Ozarks. Soon, several eager listeners told them to put some music together and play for dances and parties. Their band was complete after adding Matt Barnett, local drummer from Nixa, Mo. The guys quickly became known around Branson as Coldtrail, and made their first demo CD in the summer of 2006. After entering the demo into a country music contest, Coldtrail was chosen out of fifty plus contestants to perform in front on an audience of 1,000 country music fans. In April of 2007, Coldtrail was chosen as a finalist in the Branson Colgate Country Showdown, where they performed with six other award winning country singers. Country music star, Pam Tillis, hosted the show. After hearing Coldtrail's lead singer, Gabe Koop, Pam said, "I can't believe such a strong, mature voice comes out of someone so young." Paul Harris, a singer and comedian with his own show in Nashville, TN said, "You guys play like you've been together all your life." After the program, Coldtrail was awarded second place and given ten free studio hours at Voices Studio in Branson, Mo. Since then, Coldtrail has been recording their very first full album, "Big Secrets in a Small Town", which includes original songs and sure-to-be hits such as "82 Scottsdale", "To Hell With Myself", and "The Man that I Am".
