Three favorite winter holiday songs:
1. A very groovy, swingin' version of 'God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen', performed by Jim on steel guitar with his fun Philly-based swing band, Beats Walkin', including Jim Fogarty on guitar, Lynn Riley on sax, Walt Rich on bass, and Chuck Lindsey on drums
2. The Hannukah (Chanukah) Song, aka "I'm Gettin' Nuthin' for Christmas". A hilarious look at being Jewish at Christmastime in America, written by Jim Cohen and performed with Beats Walkin' (same personnel as above, plus Lindsey Gilmour on backing vocals)
3. Hatkivah ('HOT-Tikvah', aka "The Six-Minute War") starts out as a pretty, melodic interpretation of the Israeli national anthem and then mid-way through, turns into a searing, emotional, rock-inflected steel guitar oddessy. Don't miss this one!
