notes
Finally it can be told - the Consortium of Genius's 10-year musical retrospective! This breathtaking collection features lots of old favorites, three new recordings, and unreleased gems.
Following a brief introduction by the current crew of the C.O.G. (Dr. Pinkerton, Dr. Z, and Dr. A. Rachnid), the madness begins with the official C.O.G. theme song - Bow 2 Me. This version features Dr. Z on the bass rather than Filbert Snodgrass, as in the album version.
A new recording is next - 'March of the Skaletons', the ska version of 'March of the Skeletons', featuring guest horns from Egg Yolk Jubilee and trumpet by Dr. A Rachnid!
Following that is 'M.I.L.K.', the first C.O.G. song to be played on the Dr. Demento show.
'Bucket o' Blood' is next - another great Demento track.
'Placebo' rounds out the Dr. Demento featured trio of songs...
The perennial favorite 'Science Party' is next, followed by a new recording:
'Science Fight', the sequel to the aforementioned track. This action-packed song features magnificent guest vocals by a prominent New Orleans-area genius!
'I Scream' is next - with Dr. Z playing bass instead of Filbert Snodgrass, as on the original album track.
Following that is 'Android Woman' - the live version from C.O.G.-TV.
'Funky Fresh' is next - and this is the television version as well...
Followed by another TV mix, 'It's Morally Wrong'
Next up is another new recording just for this compilation - 'Die Barney Die', the old favorite from 1993, performed by the current lineup of the C.O.G.!
'I Have the Power' is next, the brilliant track from 2004's 'In C.O.G. We Trust'
'Bite Me' from 'Free Brains and Dead Bodies' follows...
'Krazed Archer' is next, from the original C.O.G. cassette!
The sequel 'Black Plague' follows, and it's the previously un-released 1994 version, featuring an entirely different opening sketch and mix from the 2000 version.
The compilation is rounded out with the insane little ditty, 'Lovekill'
And finally, a super-secret hidden track contributed by Drumbot!
Money can't buy love, but I guarantee you'll LOVE the insanity you get here for just a few bucks, OR WE'LL RETURN YOUR BRAIN AT NO EXTRA CHARGE!
