notes
The Most Trusted Name in Yous is the second release from Code Pie. Its title is a silly and unexciting play on a common television refrain, a result of TV viewing following the death of a certain former Playboy playmate. Fittingly, it is a title that has little or no significance at all.
The recording and mixing of this music took roughly two months of work (not counting hours of pinball and frequent bouts with impossibly hot Chinese take-out broccoli). Due to various problems, blessings, shortcomings and overcompensations (to say nothing of the sudden popularity of a certain Montreal studio), these two months were stretched out over an entire calendar year. Unsurprisingly, memories refer back to snowfalls, ice storms, torrential downpours and cold air not fit for humans. Save for Sal’s 54 680 pinball high score (which is a source of frustration and admiration), very little else is discussed.
Like last time, we hope you enjoy it (but like Jefferson, we know that in matters of taste, it’s often best to swim with the current).
