Witty picture-painting songs filled with unique musical harmonies.

notes

Wallace's "Cobblestone Wine" takes you down a soulful path of lyrical song, as if he is painting you a picture on a canvas, each track unfolds with unique expression. From the witty Suburban Paradise to the anthem like Concrete Paralyzed World, you will find yourself deep within in the song and entranced by his melodic voice. At times "Cobblestone Wine" is filled with metaphors of modern adulthood, with lyrical lines such as "tighten my tie like a noose around my mind" then your swept away with beautiful love songs as in "Our Soul's Collide" and "Inn at Irish Hollow". "Jesus Bought Condo" is a curious piece with a signature intro and peculiar percussion, "Center of it All" starts out mellow and explodes to a jazzy ending rich with saxophone and melodies. The title track "Cobblestone Wine" is Celtic-like with thunderous drumming and a odd blending of harmonica, guitars and fiddle, The 2nd Track "Sunny-Side of Grey" is a wonderfully warm song , blending perfectly Wallace's voice w/ the sweet sound of dual 12-string acoustics.

Quote from Terry Klema, CEO Nwimusic.com
A very strong first offering from Singer/Songwriter "Wallace". A mix of
songs that create a balance of personal experience, universal feelings
and emotions. Wallace's storytelling is straightforward and honest. His
music paints a picture for the listener, while leaving room for personal
interpretation. The music style is familiar yet Wallace's delivery is fresh
and original...

  • Well-structured songs in a story-teller fashion that everyone can relate to.
author: Joe C. Weidner - JCW Productions/Tularosa, NM

My hat's off to WALLACE! These well-structured songs told in a songful story-teller fashion speak from the heart in a way that everyone young and old can find a part of themselves in. As I listened I felt the soul of Jim Croce coming in and out, as well as the vocal tones and characteristics of a fresh, young Bob Dylan. I even at times heard some guitar licks that reminded me of Willie Nelson, and even a hint of the Irish Rovers. Yet overall WALLACE's own unique style showed through like a blossoming red rose in a field of daisy's. His free-flowing lyrical style breaks the chains of conformity often heard in so many other songs {where almost robotic, metranomical motion has tethered a singer's inspiration.} I'm envious of WALLACE's ability to paint a kalidescope of vivid feelings, with pictorial imagery for the mind and heart, which are woven like a fine tapestry into the verses and chorus's of his songs! WALLACE is truly a Master at the art of songwriting!

  • Well blended instrumentation, a tapestry of sounds.

This CD is worth a few listens. Dynamic without being overstated. Subtle but without sacrifice to style. The songs stay rooted in acoustic tradition, however, uniquely layered intrumentation adds balance and occasional flash to strong rythms and tones. We eagerly await new material from this up and coming performer.
