notes
The first time I heard Cameron do his thing, I thought to myself, "This guy really has something special to offer his listeners. I'm glad I'm one of them."
-Karin Bergquist, Over the Rhine
Cameron Cochran is definitely in a league and genre of his own. The purity of his lyrics are complimented by his unique, unpredictable arrangements and broadened instrument choices...Very moving, very spiritual and very inspiring compositions along with a charismatic stage presence are what breathe life into his songs.
-Elliot Sloan, Blessid Union of Souls
Cameron Martin Cochran's music, from playing in punk rock bands to writing folk songs and western-style ballads, has always grown out of the community he found himself in. Essentially, what Cameron does on stage is just an extension of his day-to-day life. He lives with his wife and two children in Northern Kentucky, and his devotion to family is an integral part of his writing process. This devotion extends to his friends and fellow musicians as well. Cameron Martin Cochran performs with Cincinnati favorites such as Over the Rhine, The Light Wires, Jake Speed and the Freddies, Kim Taylor and Ryan Adcock just to name a few. His music also takes him to venues across the mid-west.
The 25-year-old Kentucky folk songwriter and singer, is getting ready to release his first full-length album, that comes to listeners intoxicatingly engorged with sound. Cochran's CD, "Diary, A Days" is composed of fictional and non-fictional work, capturing the dark and light of human emotion, rising subtly, to paint a picture that is as clear as it is cutting.
Cochran comments, "My intention with this album was to add a rung in the ladder that I can step on in order to produce better material. I am a songwriter and recording is how I document all this. I am happy to share this documentation with anyone who wants to listen."

A new Nick Drake
author: JUERGEN aka HAGUE51The Incredible String Band, Nick Drake, the psychedelic Donovan and the early Bob Dylan, these were the names that immediately cameinto my head when I heard DIARY A DAYS for the first time. And to be honest these comparisons are still valid, even after the tenth listening. To read the complete review, go to my website www.hague51.de and select the 'music' button
