After serving four years in the United States Air Force following high school graduation, Clyde attended Miami-Dade Junior College for two years. He later obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Kentucky University. He and his wife Anita moved to Nashville, TN where Clyde briefly attended the Nashville Night Law School. George Jones.
Clyde's song writing credits include songs recorded by the following: Kenny Rogers, Johnny Paycheck, Roy Clark, the Earl Scruggs Revue, Johnny Carver, Dean Dillon, Ernie Rowell, and the Moffatts.
Following nineteen years of Marriage, Clyde and Anita became the proud parents of their one and only child, Kristin Lea Phillips. Kristin's birth served as the genesis and inspiration for this collection of songs.
