notes
Carl Jackson Henry 111 born in Ashland,Oregon. As a young man, he left Oregon seeking adventure in the world, working in Alaska, exploring Europe and Asia, once even sailed most of the world by himself. He continued to live "fast and free" for several years in Florida, investing in real estate and sailing the region. Through all his travels and experiences, Jack kept playing guitar and writing original songs.
In his early 40's, Jack returned to Ashland to concentrate on his music. Jack, along with Syd Ainsworth, carefully instructed musicians on how to play each instrument to arrange his songs as he heard them in his mind. Jack recorded "Finest Kind of Trouble", "Thunder's Coming", "Synapse Lapse", "Meat on the Bone", and "Synapse Back," many of which were recorded by
Skip Bessonette A/V Recording Studio in Medford, OR.
Jack was diagnosed with terminal cancer in July of 2006 and worked on his music until his death in late spring of 2007. Jack taught us how to live a little before we die.
Now this collection, a part of his legacy on this earth, stands as a tribute to his life as a fun-loving, warm-hearted, yet serious thinker and a gifted musician, singer, and songwriter.

Synapse Back
author: Ruth SessionsJack's songs are really poetry--folk poetry. On this CD he relates to the downtrodden, draws parallels between life and nature, ponders the cycles or the earth, sings the blues, muses and amuses. Midnight is a masterful poem, Sorryless is a tribute to Jack's spirit. All of these songs make you feel understood. I have to listen to them because they're good for the soul.
