notes
Circus Contraption is an honest-to-goodness, one-ring traveling circus based in Seattle, Washington. No circus worth its salt would venture out without a live band, and Circus Contraption has one of the best around, churning out loony-croony, quirky-jerky, gypsy carnival opera music. They create "grandly kaleidoscopic" music incorporating three lead singers, accordion, banjo, guitar, bass, clarinet, piano, saxophone, musical saw, trumpet, trombone, tuba, washboard, drums, sandpaper, rusty junk and elbow grease.
"The Half-Wit's Descent" is Circus Contraption's fourth album, featuring tales of narcissistic crooners, lascivious hussies, Coney Island sideshows, and parading pink pachyderms. Come join us for our party at the end of the world!

"With amazing skill and versatility, Circus Contraption combines frolicking rhythms with sinister words and melodies." - Seattle P-I

The Half-Wit's Descent
author: AKASH BHATTI bought all four of the Circus Contraption albums in one go. Needless to say they are outstanding, mind blowing and nothing short of amazing - all of them. Luckily I didnt have to wait the 3 years between this and their last album and hopefully it shall not be so long before they release their fifth. Get them all now!!!

wow! found this on CDBaby and am loving it.
The band of the century!
author: EthanIf you love dark/sick humor, this is the best band in the world. The musicianship is stellar. The only thing I miss here is the story element of the last release. This is still worth waaay more than the 15 they are asking. You need to own it! Consider that an order. I can't stop replaying the first five tracks!
Like Christmas
author: Emilie StaatGetting the newest Circus Contraption c.d. was just like Christmas morning, getting to unwrap my present and enjoy. Only wish I got to see the performance every time I listen!
The Half-Wit's Descent
author: Pier Paolo ConconiI have Known Circus Contraption on CDBaby and immediately I have discovered an extraordinary and splendid band, with a big good theatraliter taste, musical feeling, ironic and visionary. I work in Theatre as art director and I am a music passionate too and The circus Contraption Band is superlative!
Ex ITZ Radio
author: Thomas HubbellI have been listening to this band for some time now, and I must say that they are truly my soothing cup of calamity in these uncertain times. This band is a special kind of musical magic. Just listen.
Contraptacular
author: Owen GilbrideAnother excellent Circus Contraption release. My personal favourite track is "If I Told You Once". Delightfully eerie & reminiscent of their first album. "23 Beers" has a nice beat to it, & "Goodbye Honky Town" is an interesting jaunt into a more country style (though I probably wouldn't care for an entirely country Circus Contraption album). Buy it buy it buy it!
So worth the purchase
author: hedonistacalI heard Circus Contraption music for the first time via MySpace and was gagging to get my hands on the CDs since that moment. It was fantastic discovering CDBaby and not just one but 4 of Circus Contraption's CD. Just brilliant and way enjoyable, thanks for making it possible.
yesYesYES!
author: Aaron "Aaronious" SpriggsThough I am land-locked in Colorado and have seldom seen CC perform, the few times I have has left images dancing upon my retina and tunes entrenched in my auditory meati. This, their latest CD expands and extends their entertainment and I pity any and all who passes this CD up from purchasing it. Thank you, and continue your One Ring enlightenment upon our globe. A.
