notes

Los Angeles based Irish composer, Ciarán Hope, has been making a reputation for himself as a talented young Hollywood film composer. His first feature film project was Michael Mann’s THE INSIDER, which he orchestrated and the resulting score received a Golden Globe Nomination and more recently, Ciarán has been busy collaborating with Walt Disney’s creative Imagineering division in Hollywood.

Ciarán recently won the 2009 prestigious international commission to write theme music for the new Solstice Arts Center in Ireland, and has also been chosen this year as a member of the Irish Panel of Artist and Crafts People to service a major public arts program in Ireland.

His original score for the romantic comedy "Screw Cupid", which has won the audience award at the recent Delray Beach film festival, has been receiving much industry praise for its creativity and originality.

His dramatic score for director Anthony Scarpa’s debut feature film ‘Grace’ has helped showcase his precocious skills across multiple film genres. Originally landing in Hollywood as a Fulbright Scholar, Ciarán was called in to create the score for the moving emotional drama that follows a young woman’s fight with terminal illness.

Ciarán has previously written music for independent features including TERESA, HOLLYWOOD HORROR, ALL IN, INTERROGATION, MANFAST, THE MAN IN THE IRON MASK and has even appeared on BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER performing a specially arranged duet of his song “So High”. His music can also be heard throughout the the trailer for "It's a Guy Thing" and the documentary TV series “HERE! FAMILY” where he contributed both the theme and background score.

Next up for Ciarán, is an epic on the life of Mother Teresa by Award winning director Bill Riead, and being produced and DP’d by Academy Award Nominee Jack Green (Unforgiven).
