notes
Chubby Nothin' and The Bone has blown a gasket.
With the change in the female vocals and two years of playing since the last CD they have come up with a CD that is Funky, Fun, Soulful and dynamic.
It is a rollercoaster ride through the amusement park we call music... (What the F#$K)
It kicks ass. enough said.

I can't wait for more.
author: Rob MillerI found CN'TB while trolling through MP3.com for Funk/Groove/Rock tunes and instantly was turned on by the tight groove in "Same Old Game". "Dance the Ugly" showed me these guys have a great sense of humor as well as great in-the-pocket playing skills. A lot of groups sound good the first few times you hear them but wear thin quickly. Chubby Nothin' and the Bone have impressive depth and musical range that makes their music more interesting each time you listen. Contrast the gritty vocals and foot stomping blues groove on Walk through Hell with the plaintive female vocals on Aaron. Tucked at the end of this song is a haunting, classically inspired bass-led instrumental bit that is only a few bars long and leaves you wishing for more. I can't wait for more.

author: Nick Green, Illinois EntertainerOn their longplayer, Same Old Game, Chubby Nothin' and The Bone dip their fingers into all sorts of musical genres, but the bedrock of the group's sound on its second full-length is thick bass lines and tight grooves. And though the quintet proves equally adept at mid-tempo ballads like "Aaron," they're at their absolute best when they play it fast and loose on funky tracks like "Dance The Ugly" and "Hit The Wall." Only musical restlessness prevents Same Old Game from achieving a consistent tone.

author: Os MagazineWith their second CD release, "Same Old Game", CN'TB hasn't lost a step in their lively performances that make bodies move. The title track to the CD shows this. "Same Old Game" punches at you with the Wilhite's guitar talents as well as Luke's funk-inspired vocals. Colleen and Sara bring it all together. Outside of Luke's lead vocals, Colleen and Sara stand out well on their own doing leads. "Guilty of the Same" features Stotts on lead vocals with a strong voice reminiscent of the great Shirley Bassey and music even more wicked than Blues Traveler on a good night. Heneghan adds contrast to the vocals with the slower and soulful "Aaron". Heneghan's vocals are very Lillith Fair in sound, making you just want to ignite your lighter and hold it high. While Chubby Nothin' and the Bone may not have landed that major recording contract, they are still exploding nonetheless. You can find them doing frequent performances at venues such as the Elbo Room and Cubby Bear. In my opinion, it's all a matter of time before CN'TB is seen accepting a Grammy for talent like this.
Raw powerful album that gets better everytime you listen to it.
author: Chicago Music Scene - Eric Olson"Same Old Game" by Chubby Nothin' & The Bone is anything but the same old game. This funky blues-influenced rock album stands on a level all its own. With a groove that dares you to keep still, this album doesn't often let go of the listener. Even though it's not exactly new musical ground, Chubby Nothin' & The Bone have perfected their sound and created a niche that only they can fill. All three lead singers provide extremely emotive vocals, along with some amazing harmonies. Musically, it's like a train ride at 100 MPH. It starts chugging along and there's no escape. Not that you'd want one. Although virtually every aspect of the album is top-notch, the bass is truly amazing. Mike Wilhite provides an other-worldly funk to the songs and is one of the best bassists I've heard. "Same Old Game" is one of those albums that is so good it's hard to find the strongest songs. With killer tracks like "Guilty Of The Same," "Love Take Hold," "Hard Walker," and "Sincerity" it's impossible to pick a favorite track. There's only one song that isn't in the race ("Aaron"), although on a different album it might easily take that title. The lyrics tend to keep to the standards, but the music and occasional comic tidbit more than make up for that. "Same Old Game" has the quality production to match the songs. Every track sounds awesome. The production, like everything else with the album, is virtually flawless. Chubby Nothin' & The Bone have done a tremendous job of translating the high energy feel of their songs.
This CD is FUNKY (in a good way)!!
author: ShariGreat sound! The brothers Wilhite and John Skach put down a great rhythm that blends perfectly with the vocals from Sara & Colleen. Listening to the CD makes me anxious to see the band in action! This CD is FUNKY (in a good way)!
"Chubby Bear"
author: Jack ManzellaBy mid-set, management was thinking of changing the signs to read "Chubby Bear".
Unreal! Chubby has a sound all it's own! Great groove, it'll make your feet sw
author: Kari C.The new CD by Chubby Nothing and the Bone, Same Old Game far exceeds the boring, repetitive B.S. that is pop music today! This soulful, melodious funk is sure to please from the youngest of kids to the oldest of folgies! The music ranges from shit-kicking good funk, to a meaningful slow groove. It accomodates every mood! It's like nothing you've ever heard before, and if I was president of the world, I would make it a mandatory purchase! It just makes ya feel real nice! Huzzah Chubby Nothin'! Keep up the phenominal sound!
