notes

* "Anderson is a river of genius from which I can not see the other side" - Grammy winner Dave Alvin.

* "Multi-layered, intelligent writing - at one moment thought provoking & bittersweet, the next off beat & uniquely humorous" - film composer David Raksin

* "Broad in scope yet focused in craft, Anderson paints a series of vivid pictures: each complete of themselves, stirring & provacative as a group" - Frank Zappa pianist Tommy Marrs

* "Anderson displays the sort of musical substance you'd expect to find in the likes of a Mozart, Basie, Goodman, Ellington or Wills" - Music Connection, Jana Pendragon

Award winning film & TV composer Chris Anderson has had successes in every arena of his composing career. His 40+ film scores range from full orchestral scores to roots & swing to avant jazz and pop. Equally at home with a piano, an orchestra, a funk band or a Javanese Gamelan, Anderson is a proven musical chameleon.

In addition to his film & television credits, Chris is an adept multi-instrumentalist and producer for many Americana-roots projects. Well known throughout the scene as 'Whitey', he has been a featured guest artist for Grammy winner Dave Alvin, Rosie Florez, Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys, as well as 'The Lucky Stars', with whom he has two CDs. He has produced several indie releases, including his own 'Sepiatone', an original CD of his original eclectic instrumentals, featuring groups of 6 to 13 players including Whitey on Piano & Accordion, and the infamous Jeremy Wakefield on Steel Guitar.

'Alternative Ragtime' deems one reviewer... 'Gypsy Lounge Jazz' says another. All I can do is sit back and agree with them. It is quite a unique blend. Strange, but inately agreeable. Anderson borrows elements from traditional jazz and western swing as well as his own pallette of film music styles to create a sound all his own.
