notes

"My first car was a Buick Roadmaster, a four holer around 1955. That was a huge car."

A kinetic performer as well as award winning songwriter, Rich Chorné has just completed work on his sophomore CD, entitled My First Car. Just as our first cars were a means to venture from the safety of the family nest and explore the world, Rich continues his exploration of American roots music on this album of classic party music. From the opening bars of the classic "Route 66", you know you're in for a wild ride. On this journey through the fertile territory that encompasses the Latin rhythms of "My First Car (Bossa)" and "Bouncing Betty" - both original compositions - to the classic R&B of Robert Parker's "Barefootin'," Rich leaves no road untraveled in his search for a musical good time.

Reviews of My First Car:

"If jumpin' boogie woogie rhythm & blues is what you're all about, stop what you are doing and run to the record store right now. The new CD from guitar hero Rich Chorné is smokin', to say the least. The sixteen songs on this release are a nice blend of originals and rock 'n roll classics. Rich is joined by some of the finest musicians around, including Tommy Lepson, Steve Wolf, Mookie Siegel, Jay Turner, Rob Holmes and Wade Matthews, to name a few. It's impossible not to like this CD. I haven't taken it out of my CD player in weeks. I highly recommend it."
Bill Wright - Chesapeake Music Guide - June 2001

"On this album (which is half originals and half covers), the listener is taken on a journey to the very roots of American popular music. From the driving rock of "Crazy About You, Baby" to the Big Band Blues of "Route 66", Rich makes the trip a lot of fun! The best thing about this disc is that the covers aren't the only memorable songs - I came away from the first listening with "I've Known Your Love" stuck in my head for days. Alot of CD buyers are wary of new music - this one is definitely worth the risk."
Jeff Muller - WTHF Music

"Check that stuff out, honey. Horns, twang, fire and what I like to call bbq. It's got sauce baby!!! This piece goes down deep to some of that traditional music from this land, the heartland. This disc just kicks ass. Twangahawmawringadinga-dangdong. (That means lotsa fun for those uninitiated.)" Music Monthly, March 2000
