The Chicharones are composed of Vancouver’s Josh Martinez and Sleep from Oldominion, both nineties men, trying to keep it real in these ludicrous times. Featuring production from Oldominion heavyweights Pale Soul, Smoke and Zebulon Dak, this EP ranges in mood, theme, and tempo, but maintains a consistent undeniable heat throughout.
With a heavy emphasis on melody and old fashioned solid songwriting, Sleep and Josh Martinez have created an incredibly cohesive work that features strong lyrics, fluid storytelling and catchy hooks that’ll get stuck in your head like gum on shoes. Unlike most groups, Sleep and Josh blend their vastly different skills together with ease, each pushing the other to raise the bar conceptually, musically and rhythmically.
