Chenier is a native of Queens, NY, whom is now living in Raleigh, NC. He began singing at the early age of 5 and has been singing ever since.
Like most artists, he began singing in the church. As a young man, Chenier has performed in churches and has sung in numerous choirs which motivated him to pursue a career in the music industry as a singer, songwriter and performer.
While in high school, Chenier studied voice at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, which he received a partial scholarship to attend St. Augustine's College in Raleigh, NC. While attending St. Augustine College, Chenier began developing his song writing ability, as well as honing his vocal skills and obtained his Bachelors of Science in Computer Information Systems. He has been told that his sound is compared to the like of Brian McKnight, but he knows his sound is very unique and will captivate anyone’s ear when he starts to sing.
Because of his determination to become an icon in the music industry, Chenier has been musically influenced by some of the greats from the different eras in music. He has been influenced by many from the “Old School” to the Hip-Hop and Rhythm and Blues generation. Michael Jackson, R. Kelly, Smokey Robinson, and Brian McKnight are some of the greats and major influences, just to name a few.
Chenier has been noted for his smash hit "One Fantasy", which he wrote and arranged. Lee Tate of 7 Productions Studio in Raleigh, NC, produced the music. “One Fantasy” has been reviewed by the Worldwide Songwriter's Association and was given a score of 8.5 out of a scale of 1-10. The song also was “Song of the Week” for 2 weeks straight with the Worldwide Songwriter's Association. Chenier was among the top 20 finalists in the 2005 Unisong International Songwriting Contest with the song One Fantasy as well. Family, friends and fans have told him his voice is like a “Breath of Fresh Air” when he sings.
Chenier is currently in the studio working on his debut album due out in 2007.
