Hooks and harmonies spread themselves over warm layers of astral sounds, alternately pillowy and pointed. Though often compared to My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, and Ride, these four keep things focused by taking a pop approach to their songwriting.

notes
Charmparticles and Childstar Records are pleased to announce the release of Charmparticles' second EP, Sit Down for Staying.
Sparking upwards with reverb and delay, swaying through rhythm and melody, this Portland, Oregon foursome releases Sit Down for Staying, proving that the quick success of their first release, The Scenic EP, was not indicative of a band that is a flash in the pan.
What started out as an experimental self-recording turned into a six-song EP which clocks in at nearly half an hour. Mixed by Erik Blood (The Turn-Ons, The Lights) and mastered by Tony Lash, this EP is terrifically resonant, both in sound quality and song content.
Adam Wayne and Pamela Rooney, having shared another band (Drive), met Sarah FitzGerald in January of 2002. After releasing The Scenic EP in October of the same year, the three searched for a new drummer and found Nathanael Merrill in the summer of 2003.
Though they take vast influence from early 1990s British shoegaze (often compared to My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, and Ride), Charmparticles keep things focused by taking more of a pop approach to their songwriting. There's more snap than drone to their songs. Hooks and harmonies spread themselves over warm layers of astral sounds, alternately pillowy and pointed.
The six songs on Sit Down for Staying parallel the very truth of this band: thorough, thoughtful, daydreaming perfectionists and part-time technicians who deliver their every electrical impulse toward pinpointing and amplifying each frequency inside them.

Great refreshing timeless dreamy rock songs!!
author: bonsaiboythe charmparticles have charmed every bit of my particles with this surprising EP! With some really strong songs and arrangments, this band truly deserves a greater place then those "other" brit/indie influenced bands big now! I hope that they're preparing a full length cause they're all ready....
Amazing...
author: Sam (en busca de RE)I'll try to be short. I spend most of my time writing (mostly about nothing in general) and i cant write unless the music is good. Suffice to say, the moment i started hearing the cd, i just started grinding out at the keyboard, and spent writing for 4 hours or so. I love this cd. I never heard from them before, but i tried some of the songs and absolutely love them. Great music to write to!!!
Nice!
author: The sociable hermitThis is classic shoegazer stuff, with all of the pros and cons which this entails. IMHO the good bits are the heavier songs and the male vocalist, whereas the softer songs and female vocalist sound a bit aimless. It all depends what you're into, really. Nonetheless, a good album.
exceptional songs and vocals
author: Morgan Gracei bought this cd with no hesitation after hearing a handful of mp3s on their website. i loved it from the first listen but i have been listening to it especially a great deal lately at work in my headphones. songs that never get old, painfully sincere vocals that make you choke up anywhere you hear them... tracks 5 and 6 are exceptional, BUY THIS - you will never sell it, trade it, or put it away.... great stuff!
Rocks

Their Best Stuff Yet....
author: CHINASKI (www.cdbaby.com/cd/chinaski)These songs are infused with great melodies; from the hypnotic "A/O," to the circular rhythms of "Gas Gauge," Charmparticles has delivered on their promise and created a collection of songs marked for their pop sensibility. Taking shoegazer rock to the next level, this EP marks a significant milestone for the genre.
