author: Yardbird NewsBird's tunes are all little jems. For those of you who have not tasted his music , this recording is a great way to become familiar with his style and vocabulary. His use of chord extensions , although commonplace now, was avant garde in the forties. It still sounds fresh. These performances are among his best. A wise compilation.

author: Heaven RecordsHey, this guys no Squerrel Zipper nut or whatever, but he can play. And the band with him isn't bad either. I mean, it's not "smokey" or "dangerous" and he dosen't have any tatoos (showing) and he 's not on a trip touring with the head of the state dept. holding up starving kids, but who cares. He sounds great. Imean great. Email him, tell him you like him. He'll get a kick out of it.
