Being born and raised in a family and community with great music, coupled with wise old storytellers helped me develop a strong appreciation for powerful artistic expression and lyrics at an early age. Although musical aspirations were diverted to sports for the majority of my adolescent and college years, it was the classic rhythm and the soulful sounds of Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Ella Fitgerald and Daryl Coley, that led me back to what I loved most as a child: music. “I Am”, my debut CD is an eclectic mix of songs that have shaped my understanding of music as it relates to the great unfolding of life itself. I am grateful in having the opportunity of sharing this carefully crafted project with you, as well as thankful for the many greats who created music in such a way that their sound and lyrics became vehicles of healing, freedom, empowerment and inspiration to people everywhere.
