This album is completely A Cappella – voices with no accompanying instrumentation. Alabanzas are songs of praise – in the true folk tradition, passed on in communities through the generations. This collection of ancient alabanzas – in praise of the Virgin of Guadalupe – are brought to us by Gisela Farias Luna. She grew up in the ranch of El Hato, Veracruz and learned these haunting songs in her community.
