notes
Centovalley is a project consisting of the two promoters of Stereolake Records: Eros Minichiello and Florin Maasz.
Based in Italian Switzerland, Eros and Florin have recorded and produced soundtracks for Swiss films and commercials. Under the name Cybophonia they also collaborated to remix many tunes for the Italian label Irma Records.
In 2003 they released the first Centovalley EP titled "4 Tracks". In 2004 they recorded a second Centovalley promo EP titled "Greetings".
In December of 2005 Centovalley released their debut album "August".

I just Love this music. It is played very passionately. I play it in the summer in My Art Show Booth. The music, is perfect for the beachy, Tropical feeling I am looking for. Thank You So much.
Digital Happiness!!!
author: John R Smith JrI downloaded 13 MP3s for $9.99 and played them over and over and they made me deliriously happy! What else need I say about the Centovalley CD???
Just what I was looking for
author: SeanI liked this album at first, but I have really come to appreciate each and every track more and more with successive spins and can now say that I love it. Great investment and I look forward to other releases by these cool cats.
Great stuff
author: Clark AndersenNicely done jazzy/electronic -- stands up to multiple plays without losing its charm.
Cento Valley
author: Steve R. SchmiedbauerI actually stumbled on to this CD as I was looking for another on this web site. The "Cento Valley" by August is a fine piece of music, I would by more from them in the future.
Fascinating music
author: Elizabeth HarrisThis is like techno slowed and smoothed out. I hope to see another album from this group. I love that Centovalley keeps the music interesting by using a wide variety of instrumentation, but somehow manages to maintain a consistent feel to the work overall. Keep it up.
Just as I Hoped
author: styleriniI listened for hours to many of the CD Baby sound bites in the down tempo electronic genre and was most impressed with Centovalley's August. After receiving the CD and living with the selection of full songs for a while, I am now a mojor fan of this group. Each tune is clear and jazzy, with just enough dance beat and vocal to keep things interesting. Buy it!

Freak CD
author: Peter BennettMy fave - Freak Rodeo. Thanks guys, fantastic CD, got to go and put the CD back on. Cheers
Brilliant
author: drew koraThis is a fantastic album. The perfect blend of chill-out, technoish, jazzy, space-age bachelor pad music. It has a nice approachable sound that's hard to come by and it's actually pretty aproachable. My dad, for instance, is a big smooth jazz fan. I don't care for a lot of his music and he doesn't care much for my chill-out techno and stuff. We're always swapping music, though, and I think this is the first CD that we mutually agree is totally awesome. Thanks Centovalley!

Here's a place to park your parlor pillows, turn the switch in your brain to "off," and just enjoy what's flowing out of the speakers. At once delicate and wide, Centrovalley's brand of mellow and wafting electronic lounge music is exactly what's called for on a summery afternoon with nothing to do; stretch out on the couch (or the lounger by the pool!), close your eyes, and don't think about what you have to do until tomorrow. With its thick beats and even thicker synths, "August" is an all over bath of warm reverb and (sometimes slightly Latin influenced) trip hop rhythm. The record also has urgent moments, when snares get a bit more pointed, the compelling bass lines get a little more rowdy, and the record takes off just a little bit more. The occasional vocals bring an additional focal point (where in other songs other melodies or beats might be the focus) and they're just as beautifully atmospheric as the rest of the sounds with which they co-exist. It's the perfect album for an easygoing summer.
