notes
"Marvelous! The track, "A Raindrop For Every Tear" is breathtaking. As I listened to this what came to my mind was a picture of myself going outside on a rainy day. I see the lake, the raindrops on the water and I hear the rain hitting the ground all around me. I am standing there waiting for the storm to pass by so I can get along with the rest of the day. I would like to hear more music like this. It's almost a crescendo of the whole album.
One song, "Amazing Grace," had an unusual opening, very haunting. The rest of the song came through well.
A nine year old girl I know asked what kind of music I was listening to. I told her and she said, "I like that music." There's a whole new generation of kids out there who listen to more than just the modern music idiom.
The last song "She's Like The Swallow" sung by a 14 year old peasant girl, is a 'tear your heart out' rendition of a Newfoundland Celtic song, sure to evoke a wretching of the heart, but truly beautiful in a lonely way
I would have to catagorize the album as soothing, relaxing. It's been a lot of fun reviewing this music. The opening of the album grabbed me; I wanted to hear more. I enjoy music but I really appreciate what's on this "Celtic Shores" album. In listenability I'd give it a 10." (Sherwood Fogg-NH Music Critic)

Two Thumbs Up
author: Lea Stone (pseudonym)Two thumbs up for these brilliant renditions of traditional Celtic songs. The song "She's Like The Swallow" is my personal favorite. The musical accompaniment is more than just background; it provides life, eerie mystery, and depth to this beautifully haunting piece. The singer's voice soars into the skies and dips low, a simple but beautiful voice undiminished by professional development. The song "Spancil Hill" provokes childhood memories in a pensive sort of way. The acoustic guitar and the man's pleasant voice combine to create an ethereal surrealism that draws the listener within to experience the utter apartheid from the real world around them. This music lifts the listener in a sphere of the hauntingly beautiful music from this brilliant cd. I would recommend this to anybody. That's saying a lot, since I am a thirteen year old. xD
