  • Wonderful compilation album!
    author: E. Alex G.

I was happily surprised by the quality of the recordings, and the quality of the musicians. An excellent intro to the genre.

  • I loved it
    author: Tattiana

This is a great CD. Excellent songs, performance and sound. I just love it and I used to play it over and over again.

  • A very good compliation - and cheap
    author: Garry Brooks

I didn't know an of the artists on this CD before buying it, but have found it well worth the money. Most Irish (or Irish-American) music, but a few Scots songs & tunes. Mostly songs but with some instrumentals - a good mix.

Usually I burn my favorite Celtic music onto a disk so I can listen non-stop in the car or at home; Marc has made this unnecessary, as every piece is a true gem!

  • Wonderful CD
    author: Modern Bard

Coventina's Well is a compilation CD from Celtic MP3 Music Magazine and has a combination of familiar Celtic artists as well as festival performers. As such, with artists such as Steve Holloway (Riverdance) and Emerald Rose, it is truly a remarkable album. Being a Celtic album as opposed to a festival album, there aren't too many faire folke on the CD. Still, there are some great tracks. Brobdinagian Bards provide the "Mermaid Song". Always a festival favorite, this version is slickly produced and the background crashing of waves is a great touch...without being overdone. If you haven't heard Brobdinagian Bards play before, this is a perfect introduction to their sound. Artist Nancy Daily Green provides a clear link to the past with her track "Baiden Fheidhlimidh". Combining her vocals with hammered dulcimer and concertina she provides a refreshing track full of traditional Irish flavor. It is truly no wonder that she was voted Kansas City Renaissance Festival's Best Individual Musical Performer in 2003. Again, for those unfamiliar with her work, this track should provide enough motivation to begin hunting down her other recordings. For those looking for a great CD sampler? Look no further. With groups like "Emerald Rose", "Exzile" and more, this CD stands out as a true Celtic music compilation that has faire folks on it. Of course the casual listener might be hard pressed to determine who are Ren Folke and who aren't. That says more about the artists on this CD than anything else. Each artist manages to hold their own and it makes for a wonderful CD.

  • Beautiful!
    author: Lisette

I'm a recent convert to Celtic music, and this CD is a great introduction. Family and I love listening to Coventina's Well as we go about our business at home, and son and I generally listen to it in the car as we go about our daily activities. This CD features fantastic music and is a well-done compilation! Doesn't hurt either that son is a major Brobdingnagian Bards fan, and readily recognizes Marc Gunn's voice and style of music!

  • Terrific!
    author: Nancy

This was a very interesting mix of musical pieces. Mr. Gunn did a wonderful job of putting together some very talented musicians and diverse pieces. Each piece flowed from one to another smoothly, creating a very enjoyable listening experience. I appreciated the opportunity to be introduced to new groups!

This CD was totally great. I enjoy listening to it at home, work and in the car.

  • Cool Music
    author: Laureen

To keep it short, a visiting 5 year old listened to this CD and said "I love your house you have the best music!" and in this case he was right. This CD is an excellent compilation with good variety and quality. It makes my kids jump up and down and we like it too!

  • There´s all the style of celtic music that I love
    author: Very good CD

I think that it´s a very good work, with a lot of instruments, it has very good rythms, the voices that appear on the songs are totally celtics. PERFECT (I´m from Asturies, near Galicia)

  • Absolutely great!
    author: LORELLA LOFTUS

Brilliant music - fabulous CD! I loved the diversity of the selections. It's hard to choose a favorite from so much good stuff. Your compilation rocks! Look forward to more of them. And by the way, I loved the cover art.

  • Good array of Celtic styles
    author: Jen Clower-Brown

As compilations go, it is sometimes difficult to gather songs from various artists and make them fit together. Coventina's Well contains a colorful selection of vocals, instrumentals, ballads, comedy, and danceable Celtic tunes sure to please most everyone.
