notes
Celldweller - the concept born from experiences of personal and cultural bondage along with the creator's near 24-7 dwelling in his former basement studio. Klayton, the man behind the machine, originally created the moniker as a producer pseudonym. However, after retiring his previous band, the 90's cult industrial act Circle of Dust, he adopted Celldweller as his defining outlet.
Developed as an agent of contrast, Celldweller combines the electronic and the organic, darkness and beauty, aggression against sensuality, with the ability to find its home in the mosh pit as easily as on the dj's turntable. The debut album ranges from the guitar-based electronic rock of "Switchback" and "I Believe You" to the unique blending of heavily distorted guitars and aggression with drum & bass and trance in "The Last Firstborn" and "Own Little World." The styles are further contrasted by the electro-orchestral Depeche Mode-esque "So Sorry to Say" and the hauntingly beautiful down tempo track "Welcome to the End."
The Celldweller album, released independently, debuted at #17 on the Billboard Internet Sales Chart and won Album of the Year honors at the Just Plain Folks Music Awards. The album has garnered Top 40 Metal Radio charting and "I Believe You" reached #11 on the R&R Alternative Specialty Show Chart. Guest appearances include Jarrod Montague of Taproot, Kenny James, Fluffy Starr, and mixes by Ben Grosse and Grant Mohrman.
The Celldweller live show is a fusion of performance art, rave culture, and the raw energy of a rock show, entirely synchronized to projected video. Brought to life by members Klayton (Vocals, Guitars, Keyboards, Percussion, Eyris, Programming), Dale Van Norman (Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Keyboards, Percussion, Backing Vocals) and Kem (Bass, Guitars, Keyboards, Percussion, Backing Vocals), the show is driven by multi-instrumental performances, including mass percussion ensembles, reminiscent of Blue Man Group or Stomp, with the incorporation of trance/electronic elements.
The artist, performer, producer, songwriter, programmer, and re-mixer Klayton has an extensive musical history beginning in the early nineties, with work on such projects as: Circle of Dust, Argyle Park, Chatterbox, Criss Angel, Level, Klank, AP2, and Prong. Klayton took home 7 awards at the 2004 Just Plain Folks Music Awards, including, Producer of the Year, Album of the Year, #1 Industrial Song of the Year, and #1 Metal Song of the Year.
Klayton has also captured the interest of the Film/TV industry having licensed every track from the Debut Celldweller album. Credits include: "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," "XXX: State of the Union," "Spider-man 2," "Constantine," "Catwoman," "The Punisher," "Paycheck," "Timeline," "Mindhunters," "National Security," "Bad Boys 2," "Enter the Matrix" (Video Game), "Project Gotham Racing 3," "Need For Speed: Most Wanted," "XGRA," and "Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel."
In addition to the debut release, Celldweller has released a 2-disc fan set entitled The Beta Cessions. The album features instrumental versions of the debut album, original demos, remixes, and alternative album mixes, including "Switchback" mixed by Ben Grosse, the original "Under My Feet" demo, and a new recording of "Goodbye," the last Circle of Dust song ever written. Celldweller has also released a DVD for the music video, "Switchback." The video was produced, directed, and edited by Klayton, and is now receiving national airplay.
Celldweller is endorsed by Mesa Boogie, Firewire Strings, Korg and Rusk.

Amazing!
author: AcidThis is definately on my favourite albums of all time list. Simply an amazing album that you should listen to at least once!
Great!
author: MorganstudiosWow, this guy is really talented. Great singing, awesome brutal screams. Cutting edge electronic and industrial sounds. Slamming metal guitars. Haunting melodic vocals.....so many cool things in one place!
Awesome
author: Caleb TurnerThere isn't a song on this entire album that I don't like. I can't wait for more from Klayton. Truly amazing music.
enchanting
author: beccaElectronic mixed with techno metal tough beats and synthesis you cant get much better than that! I thoroughly enjoy listening to this album every chance I get. I used to be a devoted Prong fan but that has gone to the back burner since I found Celldweller. Everyone should check them out it's definately worth it!
Hypnotic Music
author: gigiThis cd is amazing. Switchback is one of my favorites. But all the songs are great in one one or another. A+++++
Awesomeness beyond words
author: P.The CD is a terrific blend of hard rock, metal, and techno. Great album and a captivating sound. You should try this one out.
Awesome
author: PaulAn explosion of energy. Original and interesting album. Awesome.
Le Fine Art of Schizophrenia
author: davis - contact me for full reviewMetal is side by side with techno next to hard rock embracing the occasional electronic-acoustic passage giving way to glorified disco sandwiched between splashes of industrial that turn into metal with some synthesized, horn-like keyboards and...arrrgh! While you’re catching your breath, pay Celldweller a visit at www.celldweller.com and see and hear for yourself.
rocks
author: thunderstruckMy music of choice is metal, thrash , speed whatever. But this will be one of my fav. albums. I liked this one so well I bought the Beta Session can't wait to get it. Thanks for entertaining us, thanks to cdbaby for your great company
- author: thunderstruck
I love the diversity of the music, the range from one genre to another rocks. Killer album Switchback is my ultimate fav. Buy it you wont be disappointed.:)
Very well done but a little too dancy overall for me.
author: Tony TanisThe first track is my favorite of the disc. It's the heaviest which is my tendancy. All are well done but most are a bit more techno-dance than I prefer. My wife likes it.
One of the best albums I've heard in years
author: ToddThis is a truly fantastic album. It is easily one of the best albums I have heard in years. The songs drifts from one genre to another and back again with power and beauty that is rarely seen in music today. There is a great mix of rock/electronic/techo/metal and the vocals are excellent. This album is worth every penny and then some of the sale price. Buy it, you wont regret it.
2nd best cd ever
author: ArkhazOne of the best cd's you will ever listen to. The best of them all is obviously The Beta Cessions. Just got Celldweller, because where I live I can't get these cd's so I have to import them (I hope to get The Beta Cessions soon). I paid the equivalent to $21 USD for Celldweller, but I don't care even if I had to pay $50 USD I would buy it.
:)
author: Joshbest cd i have ever heard. if you dont own it you need to. long live celldweller :)
Magnificiently Mesmerising!!
author: ShereedaThis cd rocks!!!! i mean how else can u describe such a feat? it's absolutely amazing ... i luv techno and rock... and to have them combined ....Oooo heaven ...it's simply beautiful... u MUST get cd!!! "Tradegy", "The Last Firstborn" and "Switchback" are fanastic!!
"The Last Firstborn" is the best!
author: Rayf Roarinstthis cd is awesome. Klayton is a genius for combining rock and a bit of rave like in "the Last firstborn". that one's my favorite. Anyone else find it to be their favorite? any remixes? how about for the contest? anybody here participating?
somebody please pinch me...
author: Arcana...cause I must be dreaming. I'm not really a big fan of anything Metal; Linkin park and the black album from Metallica being the only thing remotely "Metal" in my CD collection. Besides, I almost only listen to instrumental electronic music..... but this is just incredibly well made. So many details, so many changes. Metal and trance in perfect harmony. Well done Celldweller. Probably one of the 3 best CD's I've ever heard.
Crazy sounds - cool
author: MarkFunny some one mentioned an early NIN. Well, kind of. This cd is dark and a must have for your turntable... guess it is cd player. Bands that come to mind are Vanity beach, NIN, Skinny Puppy, Dada Pogrom, Severed Heads... oh the list goes on...and on...and on...
Fantastic CD!
author: www.GreatIndieMusic.comCelldweller is amazing. Sounds a lot like early 9 Inch Nails. Love it! Keep up the good work!
CELLDWELLER IS HERE TO STAY!!!!!!!
author: Weston K.I ordered this cd from cdbaby a couple of months ago and it is still my favorite band ever. You know when you go to buy another cd and all of a sudden that becomes your new favorite band, well I have bought tons of cd since then and with CELLDWELLER that is not true. CELLDWELLER will always be my favorite band. Buy this cd or I will get you!xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxxoxoxoxoxo
Wasted youth anew with total success.
author: CaneCelldweller has hit it, the perversive twist that so many in electronic mixed music miss a lot these days. Between the beats and vocal this whole CD is a rarity in that there are more then a few songs that fans or music lovers will like. I saw on here about him being christian? Well I am not sold on that, he curses often and bares luciferian symbols on his website, but like it matters! Only the music should and in the end what you get is a gothic, metal, electric twist and it is one of the best complete albums to have come out in some time.
totally fuckin spectacular
author: ashley newellthe cd was fucking amazing and everyone should it. my favorite song is frozen. and in response to the last review, believe is sarcastic. he is saying that he really doesn't believe her. i absolutely love this cd. my boyfriend was the one that brought it to my attention. he played me some of the songs and i was hooked from then on.
I love it so much!
author: Me!I don't know if anyone of you would be so supriesed, if I told you, that Celldweller is a christian band, not a pro- christian but a Christian band...that's what makes it so awesome! I love especially their song " I Believe You" what do you think that's all about?
Celldweller is one of the best!
author: 185 dbThis has got to be one of the best independent artist out there! Great music, and excellent record quality. If I did not know what I was buying then I would think I was listening to a signed band. This could easly be something that you could find in any local cd shop, it's that good!
Great CD!
author: AndreasI never tried electronic music before. I bought this blindly, only because it was on the Top 20 Sellers ever list. And guess what … it’s just great! Since I’ve got this CD it’s playing nonstop in my car.
one of the best of the year
author: DanielThis is one of the best cds that I have heard all year. Its good to see that some people are still taking music in great new directions.
- author: Muzz
Great Album. I heard it at a New Year party came home and bought it straight away. It now lives on my Ipod for the cycle to work.
- author: Weston Karp Ottumwa Go Bulldogs
If it was not for me buying a PSP I would have never even heard of the song of my life One Good Reason. I heard it on my PSP music. I work out to this song and all of them it is the best band ever! This band needs to get more publicity period.
amazing hard edge electric rock!!
author: Nafraqi know this artist for sum time, and man he knows how to rock. if you like electronic music and hard edge rock this is a cd u must have!! he's also known from the soundtrack of constantine and Doom... and of my favorite song of him for me is switchback!!!
Great eclectic rock
author: blackwater projectThis CD literally has it all. From atmospheric ambience to blistering hard rock, Celldweller brings everything together with a sinister sense of electronic modernism. The programming is intense and allows the music to transcend into the realm of the cutting edge, while remaining astoundingly listener friendly. Throw this one in your CD player and let it sit for a while... a very long while.
"perfection"
author: kimsince getting this cd i haven't listened to anything else.(3 weeks) If you haven't got it yet, get it.

author: DSnowkittenI picked this up on a whim after listening to the overview on the site. I heard enough that I was intrigued and bought the cd. I'm glad I did. It's a good cd all the way through and definitely worth the money.
Amazing... Some of the best music I've EVER heard
author: MathewI'm so glad I found out about Celldweller, this album is without a doubt one of my top 3 out of all the albums I own (and I own a ton of CD's) It's definitely one of those CD's that just gets better with each listen, I'll never get tired of this record. I strongly encourage anyone who doesnt have the album but likes Celldweller to get it ASAP!
This CD is an ablalute must have in one's collection!
author: Lunarik AngelThis CD is a thing every artist needs to be inspired to do work. Without it my characters would be feelingless. It makes me have time for myself and to escape this dieing world.Your work is truly appriciated Klayton.:)

author: Eric LivettIntensive and driving electronic riffs. Keep it in the car!
Seriously good
author: Steve NewtonAs many have said in other reviews this has to be one of the best albums I've bought in a LONG time. A perfect blend of technology, guitars and humans. Seriously, any modern music fan should love this album.
This CD has all
author: cri?SONE GOOD REASON.....for not buying this CD.......believe me....there´s no...... greetings from Germany
- author: klayton

author: pipndaleGreat sound - what more can be said that hasn't been already - buy it!
A MUST HAVE!!!!
author: randynemileeI have been a fan of Klayton's for many years since the Circle of Dust days, and I must say that everytime he comes out with a new album he seems to amaze me and deliver another album that surpasses the prior!!! A must have for any Industrial/Metal fan!!!
Pulse-pounding, guitar-driven electronic rock GENIUS!!
author: -=nOs4a2=-The mastermind behind the legendary industrial cult favorite Circle of Dust has re-emerged with a new moniker, and an evolved, more diverse sound. In Celldweller, Klayton couples throbbing electronica and snarling guitar ferocity with his trademark production wizardry and an artisan's loving craftsmanship of every track. This CD has rapidly become one of my all-time favorites, and one I recommend to anyone who hasn't heard it before... almost nobody I've shared this CD with walks away without SOMETHING to love about it. Truly greater than the sum of its parts! THIS IS SIMPLY THE MOST BRILLIANT ALBUM I'VE BOUGHT IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS.
Incredible
author: MyDiseaseThis cd has touched me more then anything. It has changed the way I think act and look. I would like nothing more then to plug myself into it and drift away. Klay Scott is the greatest artist in history and this cd will live forever in the Industrial hall of fame. No one will ever rival this except Celldweller when they make their next cd. Buy this. As you can see no one has regretted it. Look at the other reviews.
Five stars are not enough. Seriously, do not pass this one by!
author: Davis V.***From the ferocious opener of “Switchback” to the hauntingly eerie “Welcome to the End” Celldweller is one wild ride. Intense and energetic, it fuses techno, hard rock, metal, even goth, in creative ways while still being original and even emotional. This is not just rock with a few looped noises; this is electronic rock at its boldest and best. Klayton has created a true masterpiece with this one and while he claims not to be a master of any instrument, his orchestration and arrangements are nothing less than stunningly brilliant, all while showcasing a wide range of vocal abilities. Strong hooks and even stronger melodies make for well-crafted, dynamic songs that you can’t help but sing along to, while musically it has enough layers and intricacies to keep the musicians finding little things for months to come. This album is solid—no filler—and it is quite apparent that the man has poured his passion into it.****My only problem with it is that I have a hard time getting it out of my CD player! It’s been nearly 2 years and I’m still raving about it to friends (I had to buy 2 copies, just so I could loan it out!). Celldweller more than rivals its peers, it blows them out of the water. If you have any reservations about this CD, I strongly urge you to take a chance and experience some of the sharpest talent yet to be discovered by radio. If it never finds the serious airplay it deserves, it would not be due to lack of talent, originality, and excellent production quality. Stuff this good doesn’t come around often so check it out and see why it’s getting such rave reviews!
The Best of The Best
author: Platinum Dragon17I first heard Celldweller off of the Enter The Matrix and then I was hooked. Celldweller is now my favorite music artist. The combination of electronica, rock, industrial, and everything else you hear is outstanding. CELLDWELLER ROX and it's worth the purchase!
This is seriously the BEST CD I have purchased in a very LONG time.
author: Praise from ATLThis is seriously the BEST CD I have purchased in a very LONG time. This has not left my CD player since I got it in the mail! If you've never heard of Klayton/CellDweller before, you should really take a chance. Whether you like harder rock, industrial, alternative, whatever, this is a wonderful CD that separates the real artistic sound from the everyday crap that you normally hear. Klayton/CellDweller is fantastic!
Very professional, excellent
author: JorxWow, great stuff. Awesome in the car, awesome anywhere. Best independent artist yet! Looking forward to next album...
A Melodic Alternative to todays "Carbon Copy" poop!
author: Chip7208From the very first intro track to the sythesized voice "Switchback" your attention is grabed and than you're knocked on your butt. What really made this album so enjoyable is the fact that it maintains an industrial edge while the artist freely experiments with soft vocals and clean, melodic arrangements. I can see the similarity to VAST, Stabbing Westward, and even a bit of early God Lives Underwater. The bottom line...this artist has serious talent and created an album that can be enjoyed by a wide audience of similar genres.
If Trent Reznor invented industrial, Klayton has perfected that rough draft.
author: AnnaVery, very good.
author: NeeroOne of the few CDs I've actually bought in recent years. Was first given Switchback by a friend, and loved it right off. Downloaded what else I could, and liked The Last Firstborn just as much. Figured I'd buy the album, and am glad I did. Frozen, alone, makes the price worth it, and the entire album being as it was makes me feel like I'm ripping the band off. I don't think I've ever said this about any other artist, but I'm greatly looking forward to Celldweller's next album.
A Work of Perfection
author: JordanThis is by far one of the best CDs I've ever heard. The mix of heavy guitars and electronic beats is done so tastefully and the songs are amazing. There was obviously a lot of work put into this and it shows. Long live Celldweller!
Greatest music put to cd ever!!!!!
author: Helldweller5 stars is not a high enough rating for this cd. Easily one of the greatest pieces of music ever created, Klayton is a god, bow down and worship this man for he is the creator of music that rules over all other music!!!!
Worth The Money!!!
author: Guy BerniceEvery track is perfectly recorded and put together. I haven't listened to a CD that I liked as much as I liked this one in a long time. If you like what you hear with the previews on the site, pick it up, you will not be dissapointed!!
- author: Bruce
I can not give Klayton enough props for his work. Music god. I just wish more people would support him. This CD is very unique. Celldweller sets itself apart from other bands. Frozen is by far my favorite song. Seriously, give this a try.
Purely Rock at its Best!
author: ErnzIt doesn't get any better than this. I love the CD and can't wait for the next one! Highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good hard rocking explosive CD!
A real work of art...
author: AshleyThe CD was great, it was much much more than i was expecting. Before this CD i had only heard Celldweller's music at a concert. I was very impatient about the arrival, but this CD was well worth the 2 week wait. It's like a fusion between Orgy and Nine Inch Nails their own unique twist. The emotion put into the album and the work really added up to something truely great. Celldweller has and always will get my five stars.
Awesomeness
author: ChrisI absolutely love this CD. It's an amazing piece of work. It combines Slipknot and Delerium, NIN and Pantera, VNV Nation and Metallica. It's a marriage of synth-pop/industrial and good old metal. It's beautiful, I can't stop listening to it.
NOT LIKE ANYTHING IVE EVER HEARD
author: Jake!need i say more? this is not like anything ive heard before. most new bands fallow the styles of another band for vocals, and this band, ive never heard anything like it... oh my god it just rocks so much! It reminds me of the days when disturbed released their first album. This one deserves to go platnum too! dear god screw the sickness, Celldweller has me infected!
A must have
author: Danny JackI'm really glad I picked this cd up. Their is so much variety in the music itself, almost like hearing something you never heard before but everything works. The music has so much energy, and it constantly takes you somewhere new at every moment. Especially love the blend of metal and trance. Track 4 would be great to play at a trance club because I would enjoy people dancing one minute and then ripping each other apart the next, and then dancing again like everythings alright. If your looking for some music that's still aggressive with beautiful electronics thrown in the mix then get this cd.
Awesome
author: RamsJust adding my 'me too' to all before me. Don't sell out! Stay independent and retain creative control (and majority profits). Nothing ruins great music faster than a record exec worrying about Q3 results. I'll do my part. (Burning your vid and pass it to friends who will buy your CD). Keep up the great work!
Album of the year!!!
author: ShaneI have not stopped playing this album since I got it!! It must be almost worn out by now. This CD is pure energy and I must say that I am now a big fan of Celldweller and Klayton's past ventures. I just hope he has the opportunity to tour Australia one day!!! Do yourself a favour and buy this CD now, you will not regret it!

The incredible soundtrack for misery and angst!
author: EnyggmaThe production is excellent and all of the songs deliver the right punches and kicks. Frozen is chills down the spine coldwave! Its seductive female vocals, haunting keys, and pounding beats form a nice texture for Klay to vent his woes. Symbiont 's driving guitars will have you banging your head in ecstasy. This is a great record and should appeal to fans of Static-X, Fear Factory, Nine Inch Nails, and Pig.
WOAH!
author: GhostI had purchased a few other CD's along with this one, but it took me a few days to get to those other CD's since I was just so hooked on Celldweller. Celldweller is energetic, dancy, and all around fresh and fun. The lead singer has great vocal range, the electronics are always perfect and the guitars are crunchy and heavy. They do what Crossbreed tried - to create music that fuses dancehall techno and heavy metal. If you're a fan of Industrial, this is the perfect CD for you.
Amazing, Coolest Guys Ever
author: DaveThis cd is amazing, not one bad song, I just saw them live, and hung out with all of them after the show, dale joined me and my friends out to dinner and lighting fireworks till 6 in the morning, best cd, and coolest people out there!

This is one of the best cd's i've listened to in years. It fuses many styles of music together and does it perfectly. It's all I have listened to since getting it. Can't wait for the next cd.
Great!
author: BillyProbably one of the best CDs i have ever bought, a very unique and fantastic sound. Some of the greatest lyrics ive heard on a few of their songs, definatly the best CD in my collection right now. I'll be looking forward to the next Album.
Great CD!
author: MikeCThis is the first CD I've bought as a result of listening to internet radio. I heard Fadeaway and was hooked. When I bought the CD I thought it would contain a few good songs, but unbelievably, they are ALL good! Best money I've spent on a CD... Highly recommend putting this CD on late at night with the lights off and visualizations on... No drugs or alcohol needed....
One of the best albums ever created!
i didnt expect this cd to be that good, but i just popped in my cd player, and i too, was stunned. (the last time i ever felt that way about a cd was the first time i listened to smashing pumpkins' Siamese Dream!!) anyway if i HAD to describe the musical stylings of celldweller i'd say its a cross between fear factory, prodigy, some elements of Tricky, Korn, etc but it is SOO good and SO original (and so underground!!), you have to buy at least one copy of this disc, it is so good!!!!! if you like any form of rock or any form of metal with elements of electronica industrial and or hip-hop beats to it, BUY THIS ALBUM!!
Very cool!
author: Jamie [Jerkstore]Very creative, powerful, solid songwriting, great hooks. It doesn't matter if ya like heavy metal, power metal, numetal, industrial or the like, you will love this album. All these styles meshed together in a brilliant manner.
celldweller am t3h r0x0rz!
author: markowitzalright, listen up. if you dont own this cd, theres something wrong with you. it has something for everyone on it, from the whimsical "under my feet" to the pounding hard-core techno in "the stars of orion" to the brutal vocals in "one good reason". simply put, this cd rocks. worth every penny. www.celldweller.com
Brilliant - No words can describe!!
author: JessieEverything about this CD is just brilliant. I love the style of the music, electronic, industrial heavy metal all mixed into one. It has definatley got to be one of the best and one of my favourite CDs ever! I just wish I could see them play live in the UK. They deserve all of the good feedback that they are getting - They truly are one of the best bands ever!! Lets help them more by getting more people into them, I have succeeded so far.
Amazing CD!!!
author: SpiricoreThe sheer amount of flux in sounds that Celldweller creates is simply amazing. One second you feel like you're listening to a song by Orgy, the next by BT, the next by Slipknot, and so on. I would recommend this cd to just about anyone. I RARELY buy cds, but this one I enjoyed too much to not support the artist. Artists that Celldweller reminds me of: BT, Filter, Adema, Pitchshifter, Crystal Method, Slipknot, Hoobastank, Lostprophets, Incubus, Sevendust, Dope, Linkin Park, Front Line Assembly, Nine Inch Nails -- with uniqueness thrown in as well :)

author: Fadeok, my party dude Pyroc told me bout this awesome CD, and sent me here to check it out. i wasnt quite sure what to expect, but i thought i would give it a chance(Pyroc usually has good choices in music). so, i heard it, fell to my knees in awe, and once i managed to crawl out of my amazed stupor, ordered the CD. this is the BEST CD ive ever owned, you can dance, rave, or just rock. this CD can send you spinning into another world with songs like, Under My Feet, or give you enought energy to kick serious @$$, with songs like One Good Reason. This CD is definately ON! ~Fade~
wow...
author: PyrocI found the song "stay with me (unlikely)" on flashflashrevolution.com, and KNEW i had to get it. a few minuets later, my own copy was on its way! the cd hasnt left my sterio since i got it, and it never will. this CD has changed the way i think of music and the way i live.

author: CaitlynI had seen them live a few months back but didn't have the money to buy the cd. But I finally found a place where I could buy the cd and so I did and was extremely pleased. I played the cd for my brother and he fell in love as well. Its great and everyone should buy it and give it to a friend.

Rock My Socks Off
author: KayGot the demo outside of a concert in Chicago, bought the CD shortly afterwards, and I wasn't disappointed one bit. Talk about a great sound that's good for however I'm feeling. Peace Out.

I've seen their show twice, bought the CD before it came out and have listened to it dutifully. I am a musician and hold this music and CD in awe.Jed.
Everyone has said it before, Brilliant
author: SupernautI've enjoyed Klayton from his Circle of Dust, Argyle Park, days and have scoured earth and seas for his music. I've patiently waited this release since 2000, when through the magic of Napster, I heard new music from Klayton (the Celldweller ep). I was immediately a fan, going every day checking mp3.com for the mixes. After my college days were done, Celldweller finally released back in early 03. I bought this CD shortly afterward (January 03) and have not regretted it. One year after the fact, the music is still fresh, still amazing, and still just damn good. Thank you Klayton for an excellent album, and thank you CD baby 1 year afterward for making this available to the masses.
one of the best cds you will ever own
author: bladesthis cd is one of my new all-time favourite cds. blending elements of industrial, rock and trance to produce something entirely new and different was one thing, but producing it to such a high standard as well as the incredible songs themselves puts this cd miles above anything else that i've ever heard. to sum up in three words: buy it. now.
The modern day composer refuses to die
author: Ian PergeCelldweller is the continuation of the musical growth of Klayton/Kay Scott/Scott Albert since his first release on 1992, and it's clearly evident that he's one of the few modern-day artists that's not satisfied on resting on his former (heavyweight) accomplishments. Celldweller is *not* Circle of Dust, Brainchild, Argyle Park, Angeldust, or any of his former projects... and this is a high praise, as most people would continue to churn out music that's already been made and admired by a multitude of fans. Klayton continues to take the more difficult route of reinventing himself on each release, and Celldweller is the culmination of that direction. Heavy guitar riffs meld seamlessly with true techno styles, and not the watered-day synths that you find in most nü-metal. Dancehall and breakbeat moments fit alongside both industrial-raw screams and beautifully clean vocals... and all while not losing sight of the all-important melodies and hooks that keep the songs lodged in you head for days, a true sight of songwriting prowess. If there were justice in the world, Celldweller would be getting airplay on the Clear Channel-esque monoliths of radio... but being tied down to the corporate structure is something Klayton has yet to do in his career, and he seems to be doing pretty well on his own, with the freedom to create truly inspiring music. Klayton is living proof of Varese’s quote, "The modern day composer refuses to die."
God's Gift to Industrial
author: Kim StangNo doubt, this is one excellent industrial CD. Celldweller has such a talent with the genre that each song is distinct and the album doesn't 'get old' after many plays. They take a chance at some screaming metal, dance music, and of course more classic sounds reminiscent of Orgy and old-school Gravity Kills. Take advantage of the discount on multiple ones too,it really beats buying it in the store.
Powerful and creative blend of music and technology, Awesome Work!
author: johnmagana@earthlink.netI have a small home studio working with original music recording live musicians and then mixing those tracks with effects we create in the studio. Your album in a nutshell is the kind of mixture of music and technology that I strive to create. You did a fantastic job, some of your songs are brilliantly simple, others are extremely complex with what seems like hours and hours in the studio. I have to point out Frozen which rates a 5, I heard a bit of it in the Showtime movie OUT OF ORDER, but had to have it because of that sick bassline. I was pleased to find that it was just an amazing song, though not really mixed for mainstream radio, of course I don't know your intentions, I always enjoy every minute of it. I am looking forward to see what you do next, Thanks!
Takes over where Circle of Dust left off...
author: MattLet's make one thing clear, a 5 star rating is nearly impossible to get. This means the CD is perfect in every way possible. I'll proudly say this CD reaches those lofty dreams. Klayton must have been a true 'celldweller' to write/produce/mix this CD to this ultimate perfection. If your not familiar with Klayton, he was the man behind Circle of Dust (I own every ORIGINAL release, but not all re-releases..heh) as well as the sonic genius behind Chris Angels magic show (not sure if this is still the case). Anyway, with this release, Klayton has surpassed even the greatest expectations of what would come after Circle of Dust. While COD was great, this is another dimension of metal/industrial/techno/dance that just has to be heared. I for one hope they tour to Minnesota for a chance to see this album live... Buy it, and buy it quick, or you will be sorry.
IM BLOWN AWAY
author: ANONYMOUSi love celldweller i heard about them by playing stay with me (unlikely) on ffr and decided to visit their website i came to this page and lisnted to the songs they allow u to listen to and i was blown away the very same day i purchased the cd and words cant express the goodness of the cd , its AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!! :)
Klayton The Master
author: Thor M. AtwoodThis is one of the best Indusrial CD's I have been bought in a long time. Once again Klayton makes a masterpice. I have been a fan of his work for a long time(Circle Of Dust, Argyle Park, Brainchild)I don't think he can make an awful CD. Any self respecting industrial fan should pick this one up.....You will not be disapointed.
Loved the album!
author: gothicgirl_69eyesI heard this track...frozen...on a goth/compilation sampler cd and really loved it. I bought the Celldweller album based on this one song, and I was not dissapointed! Great cd! The lyrical content was deep and meaningful enough to appeal to our crowd...and you can dance to it as well. Celldweller has a bright future and I would reccomend this album to fans of Razed in Black or London after Midnight (at their remixed best.) A must buy...give it a listen.
One of the best albums I own
author: Barely Hi-FiA stunning album in every way. SWITCHBACK is the song that got me into this guy - it's probably the one that'll get him noticed though increasingly high-profile use in broadcast media. However, every song is a gem and although I've never been a big fan of trance/hard-clubbing dance music probably my favourite track so far is THE LAST FIRSTBORN.
Strong!
author: RampantAlbum is high energy and very well thought out. This guy knows what he is doing. Being a songwriter myself I know how difficult his kind of style blending can be. Deffinate Bowie influences. I hesitate to compare it to NIN because while Trent blends the techno an metal sounds completely into a consistent sound through a song Celldweller more flows from one style to another keeping the style identities intact. He strikes me as the System of a Down of the industrial sound, taking the styles and transitioning one to another to another within a single song. Vocals show his wide range of abilities and emphasize his stylistic changes. Instrumentation is creative and unpredictable. Songwriting is solid and shows a wider range of emotion than most industrial music. This album is strong!
Celldweller is a top notch blend of metal and electronic music
author: ElieThis self-titled cd, simply put, is amazing. Its starts off hard and in your face with the first few tracks (Switchback, Stay With Me and the Last Firstborn), then it delves into Klayton's softer side on Under My Feet. This one-man band is a terrific blend of ear-bleeding riffs and mind-tripping electronics. It violently attacks the listener with gut-wrenching guitars and drumming, and then swoons them with trance-like synth. Vocals range from hard to soft. The best songs in my opinion on the cd are Stay With Me (Unlikely), The Last Firstborn, Under My Feet, Symbiont, Afraid This Time, and Welcome To The End. The only reason why I didn't give this cd a full 5 stars rating is because sometimes the transitions in a song from hard to soft, or metal to electronic can be a little abrupt and lack a smooth flow. I still greatly recommend this cd as a must-have, and I will most definately buy Celldweller's next release.
Ingenious! Phenominal from start to finish
author: Indie-Connections Radio (Tony Alexander)If you like NIN and Marilyn Manson, you'll love this CD. Klayton's synth programming, melodies and rhythmic sense demonstrate sheer genius, equaled by the fantastic drumming of Kenny James and Jarrod Montague. Every song on this album is solid and the production is amazing. Indie-Connections Radio is currently playing "I Believe You" and getting great listener responses. We'll be playing most of these tracks on the station and look forward to the next release.
Better Then Criss Angel
author: Fear(Rhainnon)Ok, first off i loved the cd. im a criss angel loyal and never thought i could hear anything better than him. Celldweller beat him. By FAR!!!!!!!! Klay is the most talented person i know to be able to do this on his own. Love Celldweller 4-EVER!!!!!!!! Byes
Blew my mind
author: PronounSo, I was playing this game called flashflashrevolution one day online, and was playing to this one song "Stay With Me (Unlikely)" by celldweller. After a couple more tries at the song, the whole thing got caught in my head. So, I figured why not give the cd a shot. I ordered it up, and once I got it, listened to the tracks a couple times through. I was stunned, absolutely stunned, to hear how awesome the rocking out was, and that I wasn't aware of it prior. The whole cd rocked my mother-loving socks off, and then some. Even the subtle and slower tracks are sweet to listen to, but the absolute kick ass window down in the car beats from "Switchback" and "Own Little World" are what really won me over. The cd has earned a place permanent in my car, that is for damn sure.
THE BEST CD EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
author: MightyJordanThis CD is a MUST-HAVE for everyone!!! This CD contains the best tracks ever. I don't know what to say about this CD. There's too much to say about it. My fav track in the album: I don't know. They're just all too good! My advice to you is to buy this album, show your friends and tell them to buy it.
Excellent! Simply excellent!
author: SamanthaI heard about these on a digital radio station when they kept playing I Believe You. Little did I know that the album would be even better than that track alone! If you like Korn, Slipknot, Prodigy, NiN or Stabbing Westward then this will appeal to you. Each song has something different. Mixes of either thumping techno beats mixed with grinding guitars and bass, raw and haunted vocals and passion. Excellent, simply excellent!
This CD is the shizzow!!!
author: AkazielI haven't heard a better cd than this one in all my life. It has alittle bit of something for everyone. You get some techno influence and also the distorted guitars and some metal. Also great vocals and sound technology all mixed together for something totally awesome.

author: LoriI had bought this cd based on it being a staff favorite, woah!! It rocks. I played it for my daughter and she stole it from me. We have had a running battle over who gets to listen to it where. She is going off to college this fall so I had to buy her her own copy to take with her. And another for a friend of hers who is going off to a different school. We all agree its the best cd we have gotten in a LONG time. Wish Klayton and Celldweller would come to SC.

Absolutely amazing.....hands down
author: NighthavenIt's very rare that you find a song or a set of songs that sends shivers down your spine. Klayton(the musical genius)of Celldweller) knows just how to do that. Mixing beauty with aggression, Pain with anger, and the perfect union of guitar rock and electronica, this band will define the future of rock music. Expect to hear a hundred 'Celldweller-sound-a-likes' within the near future.

YEA GO CELLDWELLER
author: -=[Crazyjack]=- & //MasterThunder//if you have the celldweller CD and have watched the matrix or played enter the matrix game you must have noticed that the song Switchback is in them and their music is AWSOME by the way . plus their music is also used in flashflashrevolution .com witch is a game site with their song Stay with me (unlikley)in it as well I say four stars because this CD is very well done but needs a bit more actualy nothing so four is just right for celldweller.
For me,they came almost out of nowhere.
author: N.A.N Inc.Thinking it was simple driving music that my friend was jamming to I did not realize the potential that the whole cd had until the next track boomed. Finally i talked my friend into borrowing the cd and i had listened to the whole thing straight through and was impressed by the mixture of sound and technique im seeing promising things in this group and have heard that they put on a great show, cant wait to find out for myself, good cd to pick up if you are into that type or types of music, you should not be dissapointed, enjoy.

Outstanding CD eclipsed by mainstream pandering
author: Joe averageI enjoy Klayton's music a bunch, I love a lot of the work on this CD, I'm just dissapointed in the rap/nu-metal linkin park direction that he chose to go in some of the work here. Would have given higher rating if he stuck to what he knows best, KMFDM-ish riffs and positive worldview. Highlight tracks are definitely The Last Firstborn, Symbiant, and Kemikal.
best CD for a long time
author: oliver jamesThis CD is amazingly varied, when I bought it I had many tracks featured already on mp3. When I got the CD I was delighted to find that many of these tracks had completely new versions. This is one of the best CDs around I suggest you buy it whatever your musicial taste.
What a way to start the new year
author: Chris MillarThis CD has totally knocked me on my ass! It's the freshest, most original "industrial style" album I've experienced in years. Celldweller is an incredible masterpiece that is literally dripping with talent and quality!
New, Electronic Rock...Industrial Rock.
author: DJ SharpspearI just recently got this CD, and I have to say...I like It a lot. Celldweller (Klayton) is a very original musician with mixes of Indusrial Arts with Alternative Rock with original lyrics, which is extremely awesome. I have already recommended Celldweller to my friends, and they won't stop listening to it. If you're thinking about buying this CD...BUY IT NOW...It's that good.
best album of 2003
author: taylorcelldweller's self-titled debut is genious with its seamless integration of sounds parallel to everyone from slipknot to depeche mode. it's greatness compares to 1999's The Fragile by nine inch nails and 2002's Up by Peter Gabriel. it's almost as good as LaME. LaME on.
Incredible new sound.
author: Paul_PierceThis is the best unkown artist purchase I have made in years. So many great songs, with a lot of different sounds. #9 totally rocks. I will pass them on to all of my friends.

- author: Jaime
This is an amazingly layered work of art. The aspects musically that are covered are well developed and surpasses artists who have great finacial backing. Klayton deserves to be upfront running the show.
- author: Amy N.

Top Notch Album on all levels!
author: Brian Austin Whitney, Founder Just Plain FolksWe've received well over 20,000 albums from our Just Plain Folks membership and Celldweller's album is in the top tier of the best we've ever heard in any genre. Excellent production, dynamics, vocals, songwriting and even their marketing efforts are impressive. This is exactly the type of "indie" artist album that proves there's truly amazing music being made outside the major label system. I am very excited about following Klayton's career moving forward. -Brian Austin Whitney, Founder of the Just Plain Folks Music Organization
Still can't stop....

author: n.r.Very good CD, some songs a little too long but overall a great sound. My favorites are Switchback, Stay With Me (Unlikely), Frozen, and So Sorry to Say.
A really good CD.
author: HoopsI have a lot of Klaytons works. This by far is the best CD he has produced. The songs are strong, well writen and arranged. The production is amazing. I would go as far to say this is in my top 10 of all time favorite CD's.
Celldweller cd review
author: BferreroI received the package 8/16/03 after 7 day waiting and confusion from Cdbaby about my address. Two copies one for me and a friend. Upon first listening this strikes me as a mellow out record. Hints of Brainchild, Circle of Dust and his brief stint with Argyle Park. Over all plays like a dream sequence. Overall good album and look forward to future releases by this group.
Overly Impressive
author: MoonGazeKlayton keeps up the work he's begun 10 years ago with REX and Flying Tart Records, never letting up with the beauty in aggression, yet keeping with diversity in style and composition. Klayton, should we expect a follow-up soon? What about a live or best-of album through 1998? Whatever is released next, nothing else can remove this CD from our changer...
Abso-friggin-lutely Awesome!
author: Scuba-PunkSome of the best stuff I've ever heard. It's nice to hear his natural voice on some of the songs. Good Job Klayton! Just keeps getting better every time around. It a great combination of all of the projects he's worked on to date.

MY FAVORITE
author: BESTthis CD is great it is my favorite. it is the greatest blend of rock and techno i have ever heard.
5+
author: elijahThis self titled celldweller cd is superb. After listening to a couple demos for over half a year, I was surpised and excited to notice some of the changes in the songs like the female vocals being added in Stay with Me [Unlikely]. I also enjoyed the songs that I had not heard before, such as Switchback and Frozen. I was also blow away by the track The Last Firstborn. I Love the loop and the dance beat! Also, one of the main things that makes this cd great besides the wicked sweet industrial sounds, killer guitar riffs and bass lines is that it is very evident that Klayton pours every ounce of emotion he possesses into each song. The cd is very diverse and dynamic, I give it a five plus.
Smashing in your face
author: Michel LeeuwThe first time I heard this cd was on radio. During my favorite program (in Holland) the DJ played "Stay with me" and I was astonished about the sound. Now I now every song on the cd in gives you everything. Nice songs for everyone and loud songs for the headbanger. The variaty of music is difficult to believe. Keep this machine running because it's great.
Un-f#*&ing-believable
author: Geoffno words needed,...only those who hate hard rock won't like
Catchy lyrics and above par song writing but some weak moments
author: RobertThere are some really incredible moments on this cd but there are some slight rap-core parts ala Korn or maybe Slipknot (one song really), but only slightly. I find it kinda cheesy but he always manages to redeem it with something so cool you're just like, Wow! Over all a great CD and worth the money. If you're interested in an interesting collection of industrial, techno, nu-metal & alt-rock then go for it: you will not be disapointed.
Love the song Frozen! This CD rocks!!! :)
author: vickylinnAmazing !
author: Jeroen DenissenAmazing disc, that's all I can say......my favourite of 2003 !!!

author: Lorne StanleyThis CD defines the artists musical ability. I can't stop listening to this awesome album. Celldweller is one of the truely great musicians the world has been blessed with. BEST BUY OF 2003!!!!
Seductively Dark and Edgy
author: Bruce LometSuprisingly emotive and intimate vocals rise above the darkness and shed light on a serious talent. This album leaves Trent in the dust and takes it to the next level. (so sayeth this singer from CHINASKI)
klay rocks, celldweller is the best cd he has done. please give us more klay.
author: JOSEPH PATRICKevery song rocks, although switchback is the most killer track on the cd. if you haven't heard this cd , crawl on from under that rock and get it.
Where can I get this CD?
author: AmyI love this CD! But I can't find it ANYWHERE - no stores! And I can't order it online - I'm 16. And I really want the CD... can anybody help out and tell me where I could get it? Thanks! (e-mail me at Ayms2005@bellsouth.net)
"F" ing unbelievable!
author: Adam Mason aka SininailsThis has to be the best CD I've gotten in years! I can't stop listening to it. Very diversified with arangement and mood. Fantastic job fellas! My hat's off to you!
Klayton keeps up what he started with C.O.D. & Argyle Park. Fantastic!
author: d3nialThis CD is great, full of heavy riffs, pumping beats, some haunting melody and vocals as varied as the tracks. Somehow Klayton blends together quite disparate elements, sounding *momentarily* like other well-known acts, yet creating his own unique signature. Many tracks are just straight-out pumping techno-industrial-metal, others are a bit trippy, some hard-house/trance and plenty of grunty guitars. I just hope he keeps at it as he is one of the most talented individual musicians around (he does virtually everything on this album!)
Awesome!
author: Denny LauGreat transition to a new level. There's enough power on this release to keep all those who are looking for something with grit and guts satisfied.
Excellent CD!
author: Matt HarrellThis is a fantastic CD. I was exposed to it by a coworker that knows Klayton, and I had to have it! I love what Klayton has done, and the variety in sounds on the CD. I think this CD will become one of my favorites in my collection of music.
Musical Bliss
author: RussellThis cd rocks, great to wakeboard too.
Very artistic
author: WarlokI like this CD My favorite song is One Good Reason.....Kick ass Metal song! I like track 3,6,7,14,15,18. Overall it is really good music.....I would like to see Klay do a straight metal CD on the lines of One Good Reason. Klay is a true artist
KLAYTON IS A MASTER MIND!!!!

author: jasinthis is a great cd, it was worth the wait, thank you Clay for making a kick as cd, now lets see a tour come threw Chicago!
Something for everyone...
author: Glen BishopI was given a copy of this a while back from a friend becuase he thought it sounded like something that I would like. He could not have been more right about that. Since I like to support the artists that I enjoy listening to, I picked this one up and love it...as my buddy Matt says, spread the word!
Yet another great release ...
author: lordbrad8This is a little mellower than I thought it would be,but that aside this is a GREAT cd.A good mix of danceable industrial,a touch of ambience, and just enough metal to keep you interested...All in all another superb offering from Klayton.
- author: Klaus Paulsen, Denmark
This is the totally amazing next step of merging several styles into one heck of a great record. The main man behind this rollercoaster ride - the multi-talented Klayton - proves that what some would consider opposing genres can indeed be merged into one very convincing listening experience. This is world-class industrial, next-generation techno metal or whatever you would like to name it, where you will find both harmony and aggression. Do not allow yourself to miss out on this one!
WOW
author: PatrycjaThis cd is a gift from the heavens. It's absolutely fantabulous! When I play it I want to eat my entire stereo so I can keep the cd closer to my heart. It kicks ass from beyond the grave.
A TRUE HEAD ROCKER
author: AJAYI'LL ADMIT I'M NOT A BIG FAN OF ROCK BUT I LISTENED TO "STAY WITH ME"(UNLIKELY) AND IT TRULEY ROCKED SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHIN HEAVILY PLAYED ON MTV THE SONG WILL BE A GOOD PICK FOR A MOVIE SOUNDTRACK
Celldweller is one of the most talented bands ever!
author: Richie S.Just wanted to share my views about Celldweller! I was introduced to Celldweller and Circle of Dust by a friend, and ever since then.. I can't stop listening to them! It's some of the most inspiring and motivating music I've heard in years and years, coming from a huge music fan, that is a wonderful thing. I loved the cd, and hope that you continue to produce the great music that you produce, and best of luck in the future with that. Thanks! -Richie S
just a total ripping album!
author: Jeremy Woods from adelaide, AustraliaI've had this cd since feburary, and i still can't stop listening to it. been a fan ever since the beginning of circle of dust. klayton's a musical genius. i hope he puts out a remix cd for this one. if you don't have this cd you are not alive. (go some place far away from here)
Klayton's still the best!
author: CanadianPrideKlayton does it again! I'm a huge fan of Circle of Dust (the best industrial band ever!), and this CD ranks right up there. No one does cybercore like Klayton!
Musical Frenzy!
author: Tom H.This cd is one of the best of 2003! Nothing can come close to the sound and mucical abilities, very versatile! If you haven't gotten a copy of celldweller's latest musical frenzy, you are missing out on one hell of a feast for the ears! Tom H. in Pennsylvania
Great CD!
author: NyghtHaven't stopped playing it since I got it, had some mp3's to totally entice me, and just love the whole album!
klayton outdoes himself again, been following him for years....
author: joshua drowningi've been following klayton for years, on projects like ap2, circle of dust, and angledust. this cd tops everything and will be in my rotation for a long time. i can't wait to see the live show.
Very awesome
author: Matt T.This CD is awesome. With each listen I discover new rhythms and melodies. Some songs fuse many unique styles together and the whole CD has something for everyone. It hasn't left my CD player in my car since I got it a week ago. Spread the word people...awesome!
what a find!
author: PeterThanks to my favourite online store I stumbled upon this record and what a find it was! Put togetether all the good stuff from NIN, Tool, eighties wave and trance and then some, together with the artist own dark thoughts and you get an album that hasn't left my player these last days. Great fun, excellent playing and a terrific sound. Can't wait for his nect one!
WooHoo.. found some decent new music...

KICK ASS
author: memeGreat stuff... good follow up to older Circle of Dust material!
author: z13Great programming, excellent guitar that's thicker than pea soup, nice mix of electronic and acoustic drums. Vocals span from melodic to fierce in a moments time with absolutely no effort involved! Excellent CD.
Oh My God!!!
author: JimAmazing... that's about all I can say. My kids (5, 7 and 8 years old) love it too!
Great New Band
author: liquideyesGreat cd, I can't say anything else about it. 70 minutes of hardcore, energetic music. Cool mix of techno and rock, the vocals are awesome too. Looking forward to a 2nd album.
Celldweller rocks, also in Switzerland !
author: skyzoneThis CD is easely one of my all time favorite in my (huge) collection of music ! It mixes all what I like in cohesive and fabulous songs : heavy low end guitars, trance rythms, subtle harmonies and melodies, groove, nice moods, unique sounds, diverse vocals (from rap to death, to heavenly female), honest and intelligent lyrics, etc. And last but not least, you have 70 minutes of this fabulous music ! Thank you so much, Klayton !
Bloody hell!
author: xithorWhat more can you ask for? While, I know this is supposed to be about the CD itself, how can you talk about a CD without talking about the artists behind it? How often do you find a band that fits in at any party you walk into? The music ranges from the bass and drum that techno/rave fans love, to the heavy guitars and typical random violence that hardcore mosher's are looking for. If you look at the Symbiont remixes, all heavily influenced by techno/industrial artists, you can see the variety of people who love this band. The quality of the music is far superior to a lot of more well known bands. Unfortunately, Celldweller will most likely never hit radio star status because it's so different. It doesn't fit into the typical niche most bands try to wedge themselves into. Celldweller is just an awesome band and kicks the hell out of the crap being played on the radio. Buy this CD, or stay in your shell listening to bands that lack inspiration or talent you'll find Celldweller possesses and wields like a mighty scepter.
Shown to me by a friend, and I love it.
author: Sam WineingerThis CD was passed to me during my stay in the barracks at FT. Gordon, GA. Celldwellar blew my mind! This album dominated all the play time on my cd player during training. The mix of tech/trance and rock is seamless. This is one of those few CD's you can play and listen to every song all the way through.....Perfect!

It gets better and better!
author: Oscar from DenmarkI have been listening this CD for 2 weeks now and it gets better and better. If you are openminded enough then you will enjoy it very much. The style of the songs changes all the time giving this cd a very fresh sound
Some things are worth waiting for
author: WithinmeI have followed the progress of the creation of this CD and I have to say that the final product caught me be surprise. The programming is superb. The lyrics paint a very vivid picture of what Klayton is feeling and I am impressed with his honesty. Excellent CD.
exceptional brand!
author: Pink Monkey BirdNot only for fans of CIRCLE OF DUSTs last gem, "disengage" (which was Klaytons most remarkable effort). Back when "disengage" came out I believed Klayton had pushed his creative powers to the very limit. I thought that release wasn't ever to be topped - BUT I failed, I should have trusted in Klayton's abilities and his will to change&evolve. CELLDWELLER is even more versatile, even better produced, even hookier; even better than the real thing. BUY THIS RECORD. NOW!
- author: Kerry
I absolutely love this cd!! I wasn't expecting such great music!! An amazing CD!
author: ChrisI first stumbled across Celldweller while listening to random stuff from MP3.com. I was instantly hooked. The perfect mesh of techno/rock/industrial is intoxicating and makes you want to listen to more. This CD is one of the best I've heard in a long time.
An excellent addition to any CD collection
author: ScozzaAn excellent addition to any CD collection with a fantsastic mix of musical & lyrical styles. Try it, you'll love it (-;

twowords, Astonishingly Amazing. From a Native New Yorker(me) YES!
author: CirrusI believe CELLDWELLER is one of the most versatile and unique sound since Sevendust. Not only can Celldweller turn heads, but I think he can turn views that people have from Negative to Positive. Every bit of this album should go platinum and should be givin respect and keep the respect that all music lovers have given it. I Give PEACE to Celldweller...Go FAR!!! www.phathom1.net
This is a great fusion of techno and rock music
author: Nick AllcockThis CD was bought on the strength of a magazine write-up and I am delighted that I did. It is not easy to classify in terms of musical genre - it is a fusion of techno and rock music. It takes some listening to appreciate the quality of the music and to unravel the concepts but it is certainly worth persevering. A great CD for those rock fans with with open minds.
from Circle of Dust to Celldweller
author: Matt WhiteI don't know how many of you know of Circle of Dust too, but CellDweller has more of a techno edge to it. I was fortunate enough to get the Limited EP of Celldweller, which were the songs that didn't have that Techno Edge to it... not exactly the 5 stars I was looking forward to, but it was still worth the money.
The absolute coolest thing I've heard in a long time.
author: AsthmaticZeroWhen I first heard "Stay With Me (Unlikely)" while playing a game called Flash Flash Revolution, I was in complete awe. I needed to hear more. So, i found the Celldweller site, read all about it, and went out to find this phenomenal sounding CD. Unfortunetely, no stores in my area carry it. I decided to order it online, and I am so glad that I did. This CD may just be the coolest collection of music I have heard in a good long time. It kept me intruiged and smiling the whole way through. And when it's over, I just start it again. My new favorite album. Buy this CD or suffer the fate of never having heard it.
Very Surprising
author: Pete DI had no friggin clue what the hell Celldwellar was until I stumbled upon "I believe you" on the radiostorm.com rock station. Few songs on rock radio stick out to me, a lot of the new stuff just sounds exactly the same. The mix of sounds and the phat guitar riffs and beats are just great. It's a shame he doesn't have better distribution, I cant find his CD in any of the stores in my area. I consider this a tremendous rock CD with enough techno and effects to seperate it from everything else. Kind of reminds me of a cross between Stabbing Westward and VAST. Buy it.
Literally Amazing
author: Heavy18This cd is worth every penny, plus so much much more. The new tracks from klayton are amazing and the redone versions still live me with chills. The new mixes of Own Little World, Fadeaway, Symbiont, and Switchback were so unexpected. It's so great hearing tracks you love done with better technology. I love how the first track intro's swtichback, and i can definantly say i've never heard anyone breath on beat. My only greivance is the track order is a lil odd, but that is easily overcome by the everything else. Plese buy this album you will absolutly love it.
Pure genius
author: Nathan BaldwinPure genius!!! Klay Scott does not disappoint.
electronic metal masterpiece
author: canadarocksKlayton (Scott Albert) is one of the true creative geniuses of the last decade...from Circle of Dust to this. He blends metal, techno, goth, dance, rock, death metal.. you name it. This would sound good in a car, club, gym, or seducing a hottie. A true sonic masterpiece. Tour CANADA!!!
2 years well worth the wait
author: DarkerSideOfLightFor around the past two years i've been periodically tracking the development of this album. a very wise investment to say the least. great stuff. The only thing I will say i'm dissapointed with is the final touches to "own little world." but we won't nit pick no will we? Klayton keep em' commin man. Fan's flood the radio phone lines. No one should go without knowing about this album.
badass...they need to play live in Dallas
author: taylor waldingCelldweller's record is fucking phenomenal. they need to go on tour and come through Dallas and let LaME open for them (www.lameonline.com). i can't WAIT to see them live.
intoxicating
author: todd sKlayton never ceases to amaze the his fans with great music. Celldweller is his best work to date, once you push play you'll never want to stop listening. With the albums opener of 'Switchback,' the listener is thrown into Klay's world. With elements of Industrial, Metal, Electronic, and even a bit of trance, the album is a must have.
Pure Ownage
author: zazieThis CD owns. I love it. It never leaves my stereo.
Fantastical must have for Insustrialists
author: ChrizzleIf you like industrial you must like this album! From the time I first heard the album titled Mindwarp by a band called Brainchild, I was hooked. Then I heard an album called Brainchild by a band named Circle of Dust. Then I was confused. More on that later. I found many different bands that all had this sound. I was in heaven. Brainchild, Klank, Circle of Dust, Celldweller, Argyle Park, Angeldust, come to find out that all this great and somewhat diverse industrial smorgasbord was all the same person (read: genius.) I am still hooked and this album doesn't disapoint. Whats next?!
Excellent style, lacks shining lyrics of past work...
author: ChainzThe variety of musical styles this man has produced is astounding. I've been following his work since Refractorchasm by Circle of Dust. As always, Celldweller has deep lyrics and catchy songs. However, the lyrics aren't clean, like his past work. A disappointment, but Celldweller still comes up easily on the top 5 albums in this genre.
scott is a pioneer.
author: pyrofoamcircle of dust , argyle park , celldweller - Klayton is still awesome
author: jayme coreycircle of dust, argyle park, celldweller , no matter what klayton calls himself he is still the best around and this debut is no exception the music is right on , the lyrics are fantastic and the musicianship is second to none !!!!! keep up the good work klayton - psykokafe@guitarsrule.com
A Masterpiece....
author: Dan D.This is the best CD in my collection. If you don't appreciate every song on this CD, I'll buy the album back off you. His actual debut CD is out and he couldn't have done it any better. This album will take you beyond anything you've ever heard and be starved for more when your finished. You'll definatelly be hearing more from Celldweller.
intelligent...
author: f*k... yeah. it is. intelligent music for intelligent people. f/k
Wonderful!!!!
author: ShadowkatI love this CD! I first heard Celdweller at mp3.com and knew that this would be another fav artist and I wasn't wrong! I play it everyday and just love every song!
WHAT A SEXY VOICE!!!
author: Eva MarieThe cd was awesome!!! I love the way everything was put together, ranging from the music to the cd cover. Klayton has an extremely sexy voice!! I love how the music isn't the same old beat and samples through the whole thing. They actually seem to have different genres for each one although I know they were all intended to be of the same genre.(songs that is)
- author: daraq_chaotic_dragon
this cd is one of the most amazing cds i have heard to date. everytime i listen i hear something new in each song that i missed previously. the songs are complex yet flow rather well.easy to sing along - or in some cases growl along... this cd has topics that are so easy to relate to - an absolute 'must-have'
In a word, wow.
author: LMC v3.0This CD is quite possibly the best thing I've heard produced in a while. We've all been getting a little too used to the bland pop/rock wannabes that the media(Clearchannel being on the forefront) bombards us with these days. This Album is a great breath of fresh air, reminding me that there is indeed hope for original music and original artists. The opening track is my favorite, one that makes you want to jump around, but the other tracks still range from techno to downtempo to trance, while still keeping that sharp metal edge. Buy the Album, and you will find that it was well worth your time.
The Only CD I Listen To Now!
author: Mr SchmooshiesThis CD is absolutely AWESOME! Every song is unique and full of meaning. I'm new to Klayton's work, but WOW! I recommend this album to EVERYONE!
AWESOME
author: zaptonThis is by far the best CD I've bought in the past year. What really makes it great is how each song has its own distinct character, not like so many other bands where you can't tell one track from the next. I still can't get over how he goes from psy trance to metal in the SAME TRACK! And how he pulls off soo masterfully. Buy this CD, and if you don't like it, send it to me and I will EAT IT
Good - but I have reservations.
author: electrifoxI was very excited to buy this CD and reading the above reviews I was almost prepared for what I heard. Great music. Klayton displays his skills as a leader in the forefront of electronic music. I have been a fan since the first Circle of Dust album. But on a sour note. I could have done without the "f" bombs in The Last Firstborn. I wish I would have seen those coming. I'm not judging his use of the dreaded f word, nor am I trying to say it lessens the musical value of this album, just the f's are something I could live without. Otherwise, this is an awesome CD.
70 minutes of pure listening satisfaction!
author: Ward DonovanHave you ever bought a Cd and you get it home and listen to it and a few of the songs are okay, but the rest is all sort of "vanilla"? Not this Cd! Every track, every movement, every note is just right. Great industrial/ techno/ metal/ ambient....best album I've bought all year (And I buy a LOT of CDs)!
Very Cool Stuff...
author: VerbalKintYou can really tell that alot of work went into making this CD. It's incredibly polished and incorporates so many different sounds so that it's never boring or repetitive. For fans of dance, techno, rock, or whatever, this CD will NOT disappoint you!
Caffeine For Your Ears!
author: MyKeyThis cd is great all the way through! This is the perfect cd for my half hour drive to work every day. Helps me to get the blood flowin early in the day.
AWESOME!!
author: jasonThis CD is awesome!! Very impressed and not disappointed at all!! Haven't stopped listening to it since I got it!! Job well done!! Thanks Celldweller!!
Buy It Buy It!!!!
author: LeonAWESOME album. This is one of the rare truly awesome albums that keeps you riveted from begining to end. Nice length, great creativity, sonically magnificent. Enjoy!!!!!
Amazing, the best album I own!!
author: Matt BearmanOh my God, I've waited 2 years for klayton's newest project, and it was sooo worth it. I cant belive how good this album is, it has the perfect blend of chunching metal riffs, souring yet agressive vocals, pounding techno/dance elements, and even acoustic guitars. there's so much to each song that each time you listen you notice somthing new. if you like industrial/metal/dance/techno/ambiant/nu-metal/rap you will love this, it can find a home in anyones CD collection. cant wait to hear what klayton does next, he'll have trouble topping this!! Buy it!!
Great CD again
author: SCurry35Been a fan very since the first CoD CD, which was stolen. All I have to say, Excellent as always, and a great addition to my collection.
- author: shweta
This is by far one of the best cd's I have purchased in a long time. Te fact that I was able to listen to all of it says a lot right there. If anyone is even doubting getting it...then STOP and just buy it. Totally worth it!!!
Interesting mix of musical styles. A good listen.
author: MarkAfter, what, two years its finally out! Worth the wait? I think so. While Celldweller is generally Electronic/Industrial, it doesn't stick to stereotypical beats and rhythms. One track starts off *very* Techno. Just when you think you're going to hear a standard Techno song Klayton breaks it to pieces with ragged vocals and distorted guitars! Good stuff. The album is pretty good. The musical variety is both refreshing and a little daunting. Its hard to pin down since one track will be very electronic and the next will be nearly deathmetal in sound. The vox run the gambit as well. Melodic singing here, distorted Static-X screams there (and often in the same song). All in all, its a good album. It also comes with the lyrics so you can sing right along with Klayton! ;-)
Buy this F**king cd!!!!! ------> NOW!!!!!
author: Nathan SalesI've been waiting for this incredible cd since the last Circle of Dust album Disengage.. I'm not for sure if it can top that one, but it comes damn close! For those of you who have not heard Disengage by Circle of Dust and like this album I highly suggest you buy it, not to mention any or all of Klaytons work including Angeldust. If you have not heard this cd yet and like your music heavy on the distortion combined with hard driving electronics and vocal melodies that will stay in your head for weeks, then I can't stress how much you really need this cd! I can only hope to catch them live and for more albums and or projects to come!
amazing!
author: Kyle HughesAbsolutely amazing CD! I love it! I have yet to take it out of my player since I recieved it. :) Keep up the great work! And very prompt delivery as well! very pleased
i am speechless...
author: Shalenethis was so great...one of the greatest i have heard yet- which explains to me why it is one of the top and best sellers yet....UNDER MY FEET is the greatest song- i fell in love with it as soon as i heard it. it has a great edge of techno and almost a soft rock to it. good luck- i hope to be at a show someday!
This is As Good As it Gets.
author: Joshua StoneOver the years, Klay Scott has established himself as a leader in the underground industrial scene. Since 1989 when his first project was released, and even before that, he’s always had his own sound. Celldweller-S/T, his first full-length album since his last Circle of Dust album in 1995, takes that sound and expands it. Ranging from the heavy, guitar driven Switchback, to the ambient Unlikely (Stay With Me), to the hauntingly beautiful down tempo Welcome to the End. And then there are tracks like the 7:00+ minute The Last Firstborn, where the techno beats, industrial elements and the metal riffs combine to create a sonic assault on the ears like nothing ever heard before. Every song is a standout track, even the short clips Cell #1, #2 and #3 catch your attention. Klay Scott, who plays all the instruments and wrote all the music, has a very solid thing in this cd. After years in the underground scene, this may very well be the catalyst that triggers his mainstream success. I strongly recommend this to anyone looking for something different, and to those who are fans of Nine Inch Nails, Stabbing Westward, or Orgy. This is as good as it gets.
Exhilirating and truely unique
author: Tori BaberAfter the long wait, the moment finally arrives when I put the CD into the player. And I'm totally blown away; from start to finish, the CD is a true accomplishment, and now I'm glad that we had to wait so long so that Klay poured his heart and soul into the disc and we recieved that. I doubt I'll ever get to hear this live (I live in the UK) - which I'm sure is an amazing experience in it's own right. It's the first album/artist I've ever felt propelled to promote/sing their praises high. Please don't keep us waiting so long for the next one Klay!
- author: Amazing, simply amazing!
I have to say that this disk is one of the best CDs I have in my collection!! I love the mixture of metal, rock, and techno!!!!!! I would recommend this CD to anyone that is a fan of metal, rock, or techno!
Breath taking and alluring.
author: M.NewmanKlayton continues to impress. Having waited for this CD to be released for several years (Shortly after the disbanding of Circle of Dust), I am thankful to discover all the hype and waiting has fully been worth it. Beautiful and diverse, aggressive and soothing, Celldweller's debut album is an amazing culmination of emotion and energy. This is the kind of music that electronic hardware was made for, not the stereotypical abuse we hear from so many others.
SONICALLY DOMINATING!!!!
author: freexpIncredible...simply incredible...all the production work and co-writing has pointed to this but who would have thought that it would sound this good....BRING IT ON!!!
- author: sarah
i get the cd from the flint local 432 and when i listen to it all i could think is i want to hear them in really life because there are the best
nothing less than phenominal!!!!
author: clintThis cd is a masterpiece. I have been a fan of klaytons work for over 8 years now and he has pulled off his greatest achievement yet. The cd sucessfully smoothly plays through from start to finish and takes the listen through a huge array of emotional and musical stylings from track to track and will even throw the listener for a loop in the same song at times. It is rare to find a cd where you do not know what to expect next, one minute you want to smash everything around you and the next just to break into tears..... I recommend this album to anyone, no matter what thier musical preference is. I was pleasantly suprised also to find that all of the material made available for download since klay started recording was remixed with fresh new angles for the final cd release. Incredible. If you are still reading this, it means that you are not already on your way to get this cd, so now i ask....what the hell is wrong with you?!!!!!
Amazing!
author: tigeroy77this cd is amazing, i still like Klayton's earlier stuff better, when he was still Scott... but this CD is still the best of it's genre on the market...Klayton, Scott, Celldweller, whatever you call him, is a music Genious!
Really Addictive
author: JimI have to say that in the short few days I have owned this CD, I have listened to it more times than CDs I have had in my collection for years. This CD is truly amazing because not only does each song have an original flavor that expresses a mood (and DEFINATELY incites one), but it makes you want to come back for more. Excellent work. It is a true gem.
Godly
author: Mike C.By far, my favorite CD. More than worth the money spent. Every song on this album was put together perfectly. There's no better way to put it, besides - perfect.
- author: Pantera3110
This is a great album, simply loved it.
Most original!!!!
author: annI love this CD...Its the most original music on the market.. Scotts best work to DATE!!! Go Scott!!!!
AWESOME!!!! YOU SHOULD BUY THIS ALBUM!!!!!
author: Eber MorseI have been a fan of Klayton since the early 90s when he was known as Scott Albert. Saw "Circle of Dust" / "Brainchild" at a small club in Newark, New Jersey called the Pipeline. Their live performance blew me away just as their albums did at the time ( and still do - Brainchild is still in heavy rotation in my home/car CD player). This new album "Celldweller" continues Klayton's mission of writing/performing ass kicking music!!!! I have waited a long time for this album to be released and I am very impressed - Awesome Work Klayton!!!!! BUY THIS ALBUM NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good debut
author: CageI've been a fan of Klay's for many, many years and had been anticipating this cd greatly. This is a great cd all in all, although I think if a few of the weaker tracks would have been cut to streamline the cd, then I would have given it five stars. The only thing I really dislike are the female vocals, because I didn't think the females had strong vocals or a good range for the tracks. However, there are more than enough fabulous songs on here to make up for it. Klay really knows how to write good hooks, and is one of the best male vocalists in rock. I imagine that the next album will only be better!
Wow
author: DarkmagusI can't believe the way this CD cuts thought you like a spectral force. The beautiful, rich, and full sounds of electic guitars and basses mixed with the new sounds of synths and drum machines moves your musical being in ways other CDs will not. In other words this CD, KICKS ASS.
Holy Monkey!! this was a great cd
author: BedofNailsI loved the diversity of Klay Scotts/Klaytons music on this cd. He is a musical genius, and it shines in the work he did on this album. I loved it!
Mind-Altering Experience
author: devochka77A work of pure imagination; Klay has done it again. I truly know what it's like to experience music for the first time (again). Celldweller is a dark and rich fusion of what music should be; that which allows you the opportunity to take your own personal experience from it. Klay's talent as an artist in every facet is unlimited, untouchable and unrivaled. Celldweller's heartpounding beats combine with some lighter sounds/vocals and guitar riffs for the perfect musical hybrid. If there was a soundtrack to my dreams, this would have been something very much like it. Once again I am blown away Klay, congratulations.
Perfect...
author: Chris (from NDK)I've been listening to Klay ever since I found Argyle Park. I found some of his songs on mp3.com and I've been waiting for this album ever since. I got it about 2-3 weeks ago and it has yet to leave my car's cd player. I'm amazed by the amount of emotion that goes into each track. I definately recomend this cd. 4|| my 5 4r3 b3|0ng +0 Klayton!
OH MY GOD!!!
author: Daniel AngelOH MY GOD!! This is hands down one of the greatest CD's I have heard in a long time. From "Switchback" to "Welcome to the End", this is an onslaught of one fabulous song after another. Any fan of Klayton's previous work should purchase this now. COD is dead, Long live CELLDWELLER!
I love this CD
author: RachelI absolutly love this CD, everyone should get a copy then they will truly understand the power of Klay Scott and the music magic that he produces. I have waited a long time to find music that really fits me, and lets just say this is the perfect fit!!
The best industrial you can get.
author: syntax errorThis CD is definitely the best industrial music you can buy. This CD combines some tracks that have been online for a while (from mp3.com) along with some great new ones. The returning tracks are remixed into something better. I can hardly wait for his next CD. There are going to be more... right?
This CD rocks!!!
author: RyanCelldweller is great! Klayton is definitely an artist that uses a wide range of musical talents and is different from anything you'll hear in the mainstream (in this case it's a good thing!). I've been following Klayton since Circle of Dust and the music just keeps getting better and better. Go out and buy this cd now!
Sonic Treasure
author: VonnThis cd showcases the multi-faceted talent of Klay Scott as he switches from styles and emotions. The pre-production tracks showcased before this release only hinted at the rich textures and polish of the completed product. I can honestly say not only is the disk worth your cold hard cash but will have you noticing something new with every listen. It offers a wide variety of tracks while keeping a strong vision intact.
This CD is great!!!
author: Absynth LordThis CD is awesome!!! I think everyone should buy it. It's a little more mellow than his Circle Of Dust stuff. But it's still great. I only gave it 4 stars cuz it's not as good as COD. But other than that... buy it! Everyone should own a copy of Celldweller!!!
klay can do no wrong
author: ted bullFor I see no future in any forms of music without the mind of klay. This album represents what music is supposed to be. I warn you though only get this album if you are willing to listen to the future.Ther is not enough stars to give this album.
The Best of the Rest
author: knaustalgic subversivesSimply amazing! I have been waiting for this cd for 4 years now, ever since he started releasing demo tracks on mp3.com. And wow, even the old tracks are remixed and remastered to their supreme perfection. This release cascades Klay Scotts entire collective talent to write modern rock, post industrial, trance, and nu-metal all in one album. Best 16 dollars I've ever paid for a cd. FRZN...ksj
This may be the best CD ever
author: Derek TerBeestThis is Klay Scott's most polished work to date. It is clear that he spent a lot of time and talent creating this CD. Melodic yet aggressive. Emotional yet cold. Full of life one minute and painfully lifeless the next. All of the history of industrial music has culminated with this CD. There was nothing before Klay Scott, and there is likely to be nothing afterwards. We can only hope that Klay lasts for a long time. Otherwise music will not be music.
Sone Many Good Reasons!
author: DJ AingealI have been waiting 3 years for this CD! Having walked in Klayton's shadow since I first started DJing this is my favorite CD. It offers that unquie sound that breaks away from the industry and provides the listener with an amazing experience. If you haven't got this CD yet stop reading and buy it. It is hella good.
AWESOME, completely spellbinding, the best I've heard in so long
author: Pete MerrillThis CD from beginning to end just enevlopes you. I can't believe how excellent this CD is. The instrumentals with samples are awesome, the actual songs are the best. Rarely can a band combine so many styles into one CD and have it completely kick ass. I especially like the Last Firstborn, so many styles in one song. Klayton is a genius, pick this up right now, you won't regret it ever. It will never leav your CD player except to play it on your computer or in your car!!
