notes
The Cellar Live Label was founded in 2001 by musician/producer/jazz club owner Cory Weeds. When Weeds purchased The Cellar Restaurant and Jazz Club in August, 2000 he immediately started assembling some recording gear to preserve the incredible music that was being performed on stage every night.
In July of 2001, Weeds had accumulated literally dozens of tapes of spectacular performances and he began listening to them and selecting the best material for a compilation CD. It was at this time that Brian Watson from Maximum Jazz came into the picture and offered Weeds a production and distribution deal for the record. In September 2001, Maximum Jazz presents: Live At The Cellar was released to critical acclaim. This was the beginning of Weeds' producing career.
Since then, Cellar Live has released 21 CD's on its label and is scheduled to release 3 more in the spring of 2007. All of Cellar Live's releases thus far have received fabulous reviews and the label has established itself as one of the country's finest producers of jazz music.
"In my 35 years of playing professionally in the Vancouver music scene, I would consider Cory to be the most successful and important promoter and producer of Canadian Jazz in the Vancouver area." - Oliver Gannon

If you know your jazz:then get on board with this winner. Lill' Chuck gives it a 4 out of 5 Stars. The First 5 years @ the Jazz Cellar- will last longer than your supply of viagara to.
Joyce Approved Glee!!
author: BIG Bad Busty Babe Joyce 38DDDYou can slice all the Plantains you want to my dear fellows. Nothing will add more fervent anticipation to your evening than some California Wines & Corned Beef. Unless...of course, you have The First 5 Years of The Jazz Cellar keeping your CD towers upright. My Goodness Randolf. Hold your nose when you serve up that Smoked Oyster platter boy. We have the perfect compliment for your odiously contrived creations my old chum. Corey Weed's proudly presents: 5 years of Stupified Grace and Powerful Cheer. Joyce approves and recommends you grab ahold of this stellar disc. Just like my physique, first 5 years is Bustin' Loose Grandpa!! Amen.
Wow!
author: Toby Johns from Whalley B.C.Cellar Live 5 Years CD is impressive music. Perhaps one could say this project is 2 cd's on 1. Jolly Good show by resident owner, producer and jazz musician Corey Weeds. He hung a shingle and a bundle of spicy peppers out in the alley. Now the patrons and jazz buffs can all find sollace in knowing his cabaret is a Busting loose with glorious glee! I attended a concert and will never forget the incredible atmosphere contained within. Brilliant music, great cd and a worthwhile owner...live at The Jazz Cellar! Have mercy!
