  • This Music Loves You

I'm hesitant to call this album "sophisticated," because I don't want you to think this is some inoffensive dinner party background music, some schmaltzy muzak to ignore. But it really is sophisticated - it's complex and worldly without being aggressive. In fact, this is probably one of the gentlest albums ever recorded. I especially love it that the music invites you to slow down, invites you to pay attention, instead of throwing some melodic tantrum to catch your ear. And that voice! Cecily Raine has such a full sound to her voice, and she paints all sorts of cool, shimmering colours with it. I can't fault this - it's just beautiful.

This is one of the best Cd's I've listened to in sometime. Her songs remind me of Sarah Mclachlan, and Mindy Smith, but with her own style. I highly recommend this wonderful Cd. I look forward to hearing more from Cecily. Larry Devine

  • remarkable.

with overtones of joni mitchell, undertones of rachel yamagata, and echoes of (though the comparison may bother some) sarah mclachlan, ms. raine manages to achieve something neither derivative nor duplicable. never pressured, the piano and vocals carry each other in reciprocal currents creating songs that are beautifully crafted. if people heard this album when joni was just starting i'm unsure who would have gotten better press. ~m

  • DAMN GIRL!!!
    author: Darnell Banks

You remind me of John Ondrasik in that you're beyond unique. I love your style. I also believe that within 3 years, you would have raised the bar so high, that others before and after you will have such a difficult time trying to catch up that it's going to be too little, too late. " How does it feel to be that great. " May God continue to bless whatever you do...... NO. Everything you do. Darnell Los Angeles... :-)

  • DAMN!!! That's What I'm Talking About
    author: Darnell Banks

What The YOU KNOW WHAT! I believe in less than 3 yrs. This young lady will hang glide her way to the top. No dout about it. The word above unique is what she is. Even her Website is different. So simple yet so perfect. I love it. You Go Girl.
