notes

Corn Doggy Dog and the 1/2 lb. was formed in 1997 in Long Beach, CA. Their frontman Todd "the Zman" Zalkins has long been a part of the long beach punk scene through association with Sublime. His known from his role as the rapist in Sublime's "Date Rape" music video and so fourth. The band also originally consisted of Greg Lowther (of Falling Idols fame) on drums, Ross Flether (also of Falling Idols on guitar), Trey Pangborn (Falling Idols) on guitar, Scummy on bass and Michael Happolt (previousley Sublime's manager and producer). In 1998 they released their self-titled album off Skunk Records, the record consisted of two thirds Falling Idols covers. They returned in 2000 with their sophmore effort "Reach For the Gutter" also off Skunk and featured guitarist Kenny James Bishop, and Blair Walker on bass. The album contained a lotta great new material and more polished sound. Corn Doggy Dog's sound is a very eclectic mix of the Mentors crossed with the Falling Idols and very humorous lyrical content. In 2001 they released their most recent album "Good Clean Filth" which contains previousley released and unrelased material.
