Enter the world of Visions and Dreams... where elements of Ambient, Celtic, Electronica and World music combine to take you on an ethereal journey.
Over the next ten songs, you will be taken to different exotic places which may only exist in your imagination and dreams.
Your first glimpse of the land of Visions and Dreams begins with 'Essence of Dreams'. The mysterious sound of a shakuhachi flute calls to you, while a downtempo groove arises in the background. If you decide to enter, you'll discover more ethnic instruments including panflute, dulcimer, kalimba and taiko drums. These textures are combined with acoustic nylon guitar, strings, chimes, ambient female vocals, Gregorian choir and warm ambience.

Evocative, warm but pulsing and driving.
author: David PeacheyVisions and Dreams is evocative, warm and ambient, but also pulsing and driving. This is not a journey for the sleepy and retiring; her music pushes the listener to actively follow the journey. A good melody is placed at the forefront, backed up by tasteful arrangements, effects and ambience. There's a wonderful creativity and intelligence behind the percussive parts, which follow their own musical journey within each work. This makes Cat Duc's music stand out above much other styles where percussion tends to be treated as an afterthought, or thrown to the drummer/programmer with little consideration. Comparisons to Enigma, Deep Forest and Enya give a good indication of similar styles to her work (I'm sure I heard a homage to MC Curly in Evocation's background arrangements). Other artists which came to mind were the Greek-American composer Vanni: "One Autumn Day" reminds me of his fresh and breezy melodies. Also, the unceasing drive of "Dancing in the Mist" brings to mind the frantic jigs and grooves typical of AfroCelt. In short, a wondrous journey through many lands and a satisfying listen with each step.
Beautiful, complex, & relaxing music
author: Doug Morris, Indie Music Appreciation Group"Visions and Dreams" - what a wonderful title for this album, because that is just exactly what the music does for the listener's mind and soul. The music is very soft and dreamy, and totally relaxing. Had a hard day in your life? Just put on this album, preferably with a pair of top notch earphones to cut out everything else, put your feet up, your head back, and I promise you that your worries will just melt away.
haunting ambient music
author: A.GeorgeEnjoyed your beautiful soundscapes. Those vocals are haunting. Your music reminded me of the day I first heard Enigma’s compositions.
Enchanting, haunting and very soothing.
author: Ocean View PressVisions and Dreams effortlessly transcends the lines between Celtic, Electronica, World and Ambient Groove. Catherine Duc invites the listener along with her on a journey of relaxation and imagination. Upon first listen, you are caressed with lush ambient backdrops and a hybrid of instrumentation such as flutes, dulcimers, strings and piano. Bass and Drums compliment the music beautifully. This CD is perfect for many occasions. Be it the long summertime drive or just at home chilling out. From the afternoon nap to background dinner music, this album serves it's intent...to take you away from your stressful everyday life. If for only an hour or so. This is an album that truly deserves to be experienced. I enjoyed this CD immensely and have listened on repeat occasions. If you are in the mood for something different, then I highly recommend "Visions and Dreams" by Catherine Duc.
