notes
Catalyst became a part of the Detroit musical scene in 1983.
The personnel on this album consists of:
Joe Gillis - keyboards
R. Leo Gillis - bass and vocals
Eddie Gillis - guitar
Paul Henry Ossy - guitar, violin, woodwinds, brass, et.al.
Mike Mendez - Drums
Catalyst currently explores the musical landscape at the Dymaxion Audio Lab, in Detroit's only geodesic dome recording studio.
This double album consists of tracks recorded in a variety of studios, and is a companion to the previous release, 'Dogs in the Oven'. Styles on this album cover the gamut from straight rock, psychedelia, ballads, trance, proto-industrial, and ambient. All songs recorded originally in analog, with minimal computer intervention. All tracks are single takes with no loops or samples, just a group of dedicated musicians expressing themselves in many different genres, and drinking lots of beer.
