Warm and inviting jazz standards. Think Peggy Lee. Herb Pomeroy's smokey trumpet adds to the sensual mood.

notes
The album - Simple and beautiful.
McKinley's Voice is honest and straight ahead with an energy and maturity of someone well beyond her years.
The musical setting is minimal - the mood is sensual! While you listen, we recommend that you curl up in front of the fire with a friend, sip your favorite beverage and relax...
"...eleven very moving and very musical performances." - Bob Blumenthal/ Jazz Columnist "Cassandre is as beautiful as she sounds" - Mr Caines, The Jazz Oasis/WERS, Boston

awesome
author: fredAwesome- vocals, music, style. This CD has songs that she does very well. A must to own.
As good as it gets.
author: E. Paul HuiskingThis is pure, uncluttered jazz - just a great singer accompanied by a minimal combo of talented musicians doing some great old songs. Mckinley and company manage to confidently produce fresh new arrangements of standards such as 'Fever' and 'Cry Me a River' which have been famously "owned" by Peggy Lee and Julie London. Cassandre's version of 'Angel Eyes' is a standout performance! And the musicians don't merely accompany her, they dance with her musically, taking center stage during long instrumental breaks. From 'Easy Street', which opens with just a muted trumpet and bass duet, to the closing, quiet ballad 'But Beautiful', this CD is a joy to listen to - over and over again.
Just Can't Believe
author: A New And Impressed FanJust can't believe that I almost missed this CD........and this artist. I caught her live at Ricky T's in Plymouth, MA strictly by accident..what an incredible performance ! ! I bought the CD and can't hear it too often...I play it all the time. After being so disappointed by so many "extremely fabulous" new Ellas and Sarahs who are hyped to the max and turn out to be mediocre, this beautiful lady is the REAL STUFF. Don't pass it by.
WHERE ARE THE RECORD LABELS!
author: Jazz FanIt's amazing how FANTASTIC she is and how blind the industry is. If you are a BIG, FAT, FINANCIALLY DRIVEN Jazz Label, I urge you - Find her and sign her and make a hit album ... NOW! Before she gets killed in a skiing accident or gets hit by a city bus! We want to hear MORE of this girl!
WOW
All I can say is WOW ! I found this CD strictly by accident, when I should have heard it on the radio every hour! Blue Note?? Verve?? Where are you?? This is a fabulous talent waiting to be discovered.
All Emotion
author: George HarveyCassandre has such passion! Such feeling! And she knows how to make you feel it too. I feel all the joy, the pain, the anticipation, the indignation and the INVITATION that she puts across in this music. I can feel it in every note. What a great discovery this lady turned out to be!!
