There's a new Cash in town. That's right ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Cash O'Riley.
Cash O Riley - Booze, Lust, Lies ...
There was a time in the 50s when America discovered Rockabilly. Today there is Cash O'Riley, who reinvented Modern American Rockabilly.
This album with 13 tracks was recorded end of 2002 but was never released so far. 12 songs have been selfpenned by singer Cash O' Riley. A second album will be released end of 2004. Cash O'Riley has already played all big festivals in the US and boy this band rocks. Modern rockabilly at its best. Only one cover I love Rock'n'Roll from the Ramones, the rest is written by Cash. If you are familiar with other Rhythm Bomb Productions you will know what you can expect: A fantastic voice, strong lyrics, highly motivated musicians with one goal: Rockabilly Uprising !

Hailing from Detroit [sic] (Jackson), Michigan, Cash O'Riley and his Down Right Daddies bring to the table a full plate of authentic rockabilly fused with traditional
The opener SEND ALONG reminds of what the late, great Hank Williams Sr. would be doing if he were alive today. While tracks two and three, RUBY FRUIT BLUES and I'LL BE GONE, has the King himself smilin' down from the heavens, givin' a two big thumbs up.
The 12 songs, all but one written by Cash, have some great sounds. Cash and his Downright Daddies keep things moving with good singing, some excellent guitar pickin', a good rhythm section, and even some fine saxophone playing as well as backing vocals. Johnny Itch, who plays doghouse bass for the Downright Daddies, was the saxophone player on the CD, and Brian Bedwell, on the drums, are both original Downright Daddies.Dave Roof, who is known to the Michigan rockabillies as the former bass player for The Starlight Drifters and current bass player for Bill Georgio's band, Nobody's Business, produced and engineered this CD at his own Rooftop Studios in Royal Oak, Michigan. With gumption that can possibly only be matched by Cash himself, Dave took it upon himself to play and record the lead guitar tracks after the band had first recorded the bass, drums, vocal and acoustic guitar, so when Cash and crew heard what Dave had done with the lead guitar tracks, everybody was blown away. It just goes to show that talent, ambition, tenacity and the determination of a bull in heat will eventually lead to success. Most of the cuts on the CD are up-tempo rockabilly with a heavy dose of twang that should satisfy any lover of roots/Americana/classic country music, as well as the diehard rockabilly purists. Besides the frequent themes of love, sex and drinking, there are many interesting and enjoyable sounds. The third song on the CD, "Every Time You Walk", is a mid-tempo rockabilly song that reminds me of an early Elvis Presley single that I don't hear too often, "Too Much" (I lost my RCA single many years ago, but I believe the flip side was "I'm Playing For Keeps").
As is the case with many of our younger generation's rockabilly stars including Craig "Bones" Maki, Cash's exposure to rockabilly was catalyzed by an early propinquity for punk music, and one of the tracks on this CD , "I Love Rock Rock'N'Roll", is Cash's tribute to the Ramones after the death of Joey Ramone in 2002.

Cash O Riley is the Bomb!
author: Kari GerardI have had the opportunity to see Cash play live multiple times. He frequents a bar two blocks from my home, I don't know what else to say other than WOW!!!!! The first time I saw him I was hooked! I had never listened to rockabilly music much...only old school stuff like Elvis and Hank Sr. I was floored and had to go see him every time I saw his name on the marquise. If you don't have a heel kickin', knee slappin' good time it's your own damn fault because Cash is sure one hell of a show! We miss you Cash come back soon!

FANtabulass
author: ValI witnessed a GREAT performance by this band at a New Year's gig. I was 'hooked' on the sounds and great performances by each and every band member. But I gotta tell you that drum performance by Cash was great. I got home from the party went on the website and ordered the CD. Can't wait to get additional CD's and I will travel to watch the band again.
The backdrop to many good nights of drinking.
author: AaronI haven't heard the CD, but have seen Cash live at the Soggy Bottom Bar in Flint plenty of times. Based on their live shows, the CD is worth the buy.
Sucks the very breath outta me - pure genius!
author: Juliette WillsIf this CD was an animal it'd tease you, chase you, catch up with you then knock your head clean off and eat you. If it was a dinner it'd be steak which would melt in your mouth and fill you to your heart's content whilst leaving you wanting more. It's perfect. Genius. The most talented young song writer around. Just wish I lived in Michigan and not England so I could see them every week.
unique sound, these guys love what they do

One time through at 140 db or so launched it into my top 10...
author: Boppin' BillI've been boppin', shakin', and collecting RA-RA-ROCKABILLY records and CD's since about 1979. It's been in my blood for years before that, since I was a youngin' growin' up bad in Phoenix, AZ. One time through "Booze, Lust, Lies,& Heartache" at 140 or so db launched it into my top 10 or so all time favorites. I'll get tons of sheer rockabilly joy-ment out of this very fine disc for many years to come. Get off your tight ass, get out your wallet and spend a little $$ for a lot of pleasure. You gotta dig it, ya hear?
Awesome!
author: Diane ParsonsAbout the best I have ever heard! Great music. Well worth the price! Just wish the band would travel closer so I can see them perform in person.
Cash O' Riley kicks ass!
author: Red Hot RubyIf Send Along, the first track on this superb album doesn't lift your spirits and make you wish you had written it yourself, I'll eat your hat, and your shoes. Cash O'Riley epitomises rock n roll at its best - full of emotion, extreme musical talent and the ability to cover a range of styles perfectly. An absolute belter.
Great Rockabily Music!
author: Vernon W. GoodrichThis CD has all the great qualities of lyrics, music, and singing. Knee jumping, finger drumming, snappy beat! It just make's you want to get up and "jitter-bug" to the rock-n-roll rockabilly beat.
