notes
It’s been a productive year for Casey Stratton. In 2007 he recorded over 100 tracks in his Michigan studio and finished up his latest release, "Orbit". "Orbit" finds Stratton exploring some new territory. For the project Casey paid tribute to the music of the early 90s from bands such as The Sundays, The Innocence Mission, Cocteau Twins and The Cure while still remaining consistent with his own unique sound. The album explores the many angles of a complex relationship in songs such as album opener "Stolen Thunder", title track "Orbit" and the heartbreaking ballad "Willing to Try" as well as touching on spiritual and political themes on tracks like "Letters to God" and "On and On". The result is a catchy yet thought-provoking work that will most likely become a fan favorite as well as gaining the attention of an even wider audience.

If you liked "standing at the edge", you will love every other release from Casey. It's constantly deep, meaningful, beautiful, creative, inspiring music you will get to listen to! Since he is producing his own music, I think the songs are even more raw and special than on the sony-release...I just love it, can't get enough...

Beautiful As Always
author: Jeff SpiresI've been a fan of Casey Stratton since his Sony release Standing At The Edge. He is one of the most consistant artists out there. He always manages to put together beautiful albums and Orbit is no exception. Although Divide is still my favorite, Orbit isn't too far behind. For fans of Casey you will not be disappointed. If you've never heard Casey this is a great album to start with. Some of my favorite tracks are Your Ghost Passing By which has a beautiful melody; Stolen Thunder which sounds almost like a Prince tune; Kites which is about a lost loved one and will move anyone whose ever lost someone close; Orbit which is haunting; I Don't Think So which is just a great pop song; and the list goes on. Anyone who is a fan of real music will love this and all of Casey Stratton's work.
