Carsie is a Philadelphia artist whose soulful, playful, intelligent music has won her recognition throughout the local music scene. Since her move to Philadelphia (from Eugene, Oregon) in fall of 2006, Carsie has shared the stage with nationally and regionally hailed acts including Amos Lee, Jeffrey Gaines, Leon Redbone and Ruthie Foster, and has played at the Tin Angel in Philadelphia, Club Passim in Cambridge, the Birchmere in Alexandria, and live on WXPN radio.

    I first met Carsie Blanton in 2006 at Milkboy in Ardmore, where we were both performing. As she started playing, this hush came over the audience and you could have heard a pin drop. I couldn't believe that someone so young could write such thoughtful, intelligent and poignant lyrics.I knew then that this was someone special. Obviously, other people agreed and she quickly became a regular performer on WXPN and at venues across the country. I couldn't be more pleased since she is not only a talented performer with a hauntingly pure voice, but she is such a nice person. i've just bought yet another copy of this lovely album to give to a friend!

    I've heard there are two types of music listeners, those who pay attention to lyrics and those who don't. For those who don't, this disc should keep your toes tapping and air horns blowing, and chambering metallic guitar strings in your head. For those who do, Carsie writes masterfully intelligent lyrics, with hooks that lead you this way, this way, then WHAM . . . left hook. It's a beautiful CD, and I'm ready for the next!
