notes
At 48 years old and having spent the last 25 years performing professionally, Carey Brazil has finally come to the place that all professionals arrive to. His first cd! Two and a half years in the making and countless hours of no sleep all come together in this positive, guitar/vocal work that showcases Carey's passion for music that truly defies categorization.
A good five word description for the complete body of this work would be "The Joy Of The Lord," for I believe that is what shines through on this CD. You don't have to live inside the four walls of a church to enjoy this CD and "get in the groove," you just have to love music. Carey did 99% of the vocals and harmonies on this CD, and his Beatles and Steely Dan influences (along with Elvis' Jordanaires), are quite evident. He did all the guitar work and much of the bass playing, as well as all the engineering, mixing, and producing on this CD. All the songs are written by him, and the inspiration for the cover art is his.
Carey is involved as a children's praise and worship leader, and his great passion for the gift of music finds him producing and recording constantly. You can also find him playing select venues as the demand for live music warrants. His motto for live performances is "you're only as good as your last gig," and "never play on a full stomach!"
Carey Brazil has been playing the guitar for 30 years now and it still consumes him. Just ask his wife!
