Carbon 9 delivers modern hard rock/active rock with an industrial twist. Dark, haunting, heavy while still melodic and hooky.

notes

The vision of CARBON 9 was born 5 years ago in the psyche of vocalist Stacey Quinealty. While conquering the concert scene in and around his native home of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Quinealty said, "I looked around and saw people getting out of touch with humanity due to the advent of computers, the world wide web, cellular telephones, and technological advancements that were actually created to enhance the human life. During this time, visions would come to me about a futuristic world which had become void of the basic human elements of individuality, experience, emotions, and spirit." These visions would evolve into the music, lyrics, and visual spectacle that defined the band's acclaimed first release, "Systemaddict".

Los Angeles audiences have been devouring the CARBON 9 live show for more than four years now. After more than three-hundred shows, many of them sellout performances, CARBON 9 was named Los Angeles Music Awards' "Best Modern Rock Band" as well as nominated for "Most Outstanding Live Performance" for 2003. These honors follow recognition from a variety of organizations including Los Angeles' Rock City Music Awards' nod for "Best Industrial Band" and "Best Male Vocalist".

CARBON 9 is crafted by the charismatic Stacey Quinealty (vocals) along with the sonic crunch of Darwin DeVitis (guitars), the creative and artistic vision of Danny Cistone (backing vocals), and the pounding precision of rhythm section Curtis Porche (bass) and Matty Milani (drums).

"Our audiences demanded a recording to take home with them that was as powerful as the live show. We took a long, hard look at our reflection and saw growth was a necessity for us to reach next level," says bassist Curtis Porche.

The band recently headed to Landmark Studios in North Hollywood, CA to record their newest release "COTM, Renewed Beginnings". Mixing duties fell to award-winning producer and engineer Duane Baron (Ozzy Osbourne, Motley Crue, Tracy Chapman, Hoobastank, Poison) and Jimmy Boyle (Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, Alanis Morrisette, Rasputina) at Banyan Tree Studios in Hollywood. "COTM" exhibits CARBON 9's musical growth as well as its freshly re-tooled edge - its hooks and craftsmanship guaranteed to satiate the band's faithful and convert countless newcomers.

With a new disc, a revamped website, several videos, and songs in several major motion pictures, Carbon 9 has begun the advance to the next level. They are self-sufficient machine, accomplishing on their own what others fail to achieve with major-label backing.

So to all those who might be wondering. "Who is CARBON 9?" This new monster band and Los Angeles favorite is ready for the world, and ready to create music history.

  • What Can I Say?
    author: Cuyler

Wow is about all i can say. in fact, WoW. a unique sound with imaginative lyrics and instruments, with a commanding lead vocal that sounds somewhat reminiscent of Orgy. their video for Fear is one of the coolest things i do believe i've ever seen, and everyone should head over to carbon9.com and watch it, because that's what sucked me into their music a so so hard. i just gotta get their first cd now. you may have noticed i gave it a 4 and not a 5, and that's only because i wish it were longer. everything else is spades and stars, however.

  • OUTSTANDING !
    author: "Auntie " Buzz

OUTSTANDING !! ...is all I can say..Love you MATTY...

  • Matured Follow-up
    author: Buddy

The sophomore release from C9 shows spiritual growth and maturity. Their trademark thoughtful lyrics are intact on Plenty to Burn, Walk Alone and Fear. The industrial/electronica feel has faded some, but is made u[p by a double dose of the 80's nostlagic metal riffs. The CD has a song for every mood, angry (How about Today?), confused (walk alone) and everything between. Not as creative and varied as systemaddict, but very solid.

  • Rockin as usual!!!!!!!!!!
    author: Thomas Castig

This CD rocks.... The songs were hard, and still maintain the Carbon 9 sound. To hear the CD is an experience, but to see the show....it's another world!!!!! Great job guys, and keep up the great work! TC

  • Phenomenal
    author: Heather

Carbon 9 has done it again, with this stunning prequel to their 'Systemaddict' CD. Memorable riffs, driving rhythms, and vocals that rival the best of the best. Beginning with "How About Today", C9 doesn't let you catch your breath until the end of the tenth hidden track "Fear". Quinealty and crew have outdone themselves. I'd try to compare them to other artists, but there simply isn't anyone else like them.

  • EXCELLENT
