These ryhme bustin' buccaneers are no joke!!
author: MannyHad you found me before I found out about these guys and mentioned the prospect of rapping pirates, I'd likely laugh and walk away. However, these guys have really turned the tables(no pun intended). With this being said, I think out of the three albums so far, this one has got to be the best. Solid gold.
Another hit from the crew
author: Josh DryerCaptain Dan's 2nd album continues with even more hot beats and great lyrics that is arguably better than their first. I highly recommend this tape.
YAAAR!
author: Michael LindseyWhat else needs to be said? The CD rocks and CD baby handled everything well. The CD was in perfect condition and I rock CPT. Dan every day. YAAAR!
Broadside!
author: shampoovtaAgain as I said on your THE SCURVY CREW: Authentic Pirate Hip Hop review page , I am a security guard at a high school and " You know me by the notches in my tricorn cap, every snip is a ship that I turned in to scrap. Rolling round the Caribbean on a roil decree. If ya can't take the heat then get out of the sea!" More Navy boys please, his accent is HOT!

Awsome just Awsome
Rimes of the Hip Hop Mariners
author: ScottyLost more great stuff from Captain Dan!
great!
author: Ira JacobsThis is some great rap unlike most of the drivel out there - it has a tune, the words rhyme, and they're thematic and funny. If you like pirates, it's even better! Check out their 1st CD too.
Thank God for Originality
author: Heather EllsworthThis is great stuff. I write crazy hip hop lyrics myself and was really impressed with Captain Dan & the Scurvy Crew. Loved the production too.
Hook-d
author: DiabloCouldnt help myself pirates that rap come on! Have to say jolly roger is one of my favorite tracks so far.
Rapping pirates > ninjas
author: SpoonerYeah, that awesome.
Thugs of the High Seas
author: Quartermaster Craig of the Missouri ReaversCaptain Dan and the Scurvy Crew have the right piratitude. They lay down phat rhymes that bring out the need to represent your sea-faring brothers, lay down some punishment, and mourn the loss of our fallen brothers and sisters. Highly recommended. Be sure to check out their first album, "Authentic Pirate Hip Hop", as well.
Pirates > Thugs
author: CeadahgCaptain Dan takes pirate life and exposes it like most rap groups do thug life, but the pirate life eclipses thug life in damn near every way. Hoist the anchors, there be pillaging to do, matey!
Arrgh it be awesomer than last!
author: ElizabethI love this cd. and it goes well since I go to East Carolina University... home of the Pirates!!!
I'll be yer Rum Wench
author: JaxI don't even LIKE hiphop, but I had to have this and I'm glad I got it! Its got great beats, and the ship lingo and some of the legends are true to history. A unique blend of pirate and gangsta. Broadside and Sea Monsters are pro'lly my faves...just ordered "Authentic Pirate HipHop" too, it was out of stock before! Can't wait to review that one too.
I don't get to say this often:
author: RonThis album contains the best Rap Battle between a crew of pirates and the British Royal Navy that I have ever heard. Not only is this album a good listen, it retells old tales that many have never heard. Their version of the Rime of the Mariner is fresh yet keeps with the original very well. I didn't care for the first album but this one is much better and I can't wait to see how they improve in the next.
Yarr Mk II!
author: AypokMuch like the first album; absolutely brilliant. I'm not really into rap/hip-hop, but Captain Dan & The Scurvy Crew are just too good for me to care - I highly recommend this to anyone with a sense of humour (no matter what genres of music you like). I've played a few tracks to some of my friends - they all loved it! I can't wait for the third album.
Sharpen yer knives...
author: Larry Fausnacht...cuz Cap'n Dan and his band of rhyme-droppin' scallywags have scored another winner! Even if you are not a hiphop fan (and I am certainly not) if you like pirate core music then this album is for you. While many bands flounder on their sophomore efforts, the Scurvy Crew improve their craft and give 15 tracks of head bouncin', hook wavin' tunes that are worth ANYONE'S listening time.
Yo Fo! Yo Fo!
author: BilgemunkyCaptain Dan and his Scurvy Crew have done it again! Their first album was incredible - so much so that a comparable sequel seemed a tall order indeed. But Rimes of the Hip Hop Mariners lives up in every respect. With awsome beats, hilarious gangsta-rap lyrics, and pirate content through and through, this is definitely one for the ages!
