(About MP3 downloads at CD Baby)

This album combines the free thinking of the swinging '60's and the punk generation. The result: an inspired anomaly.

notes

On "PLUCK", CanBe takes us on a tour of the places he's been since we last heard from him on The Sun's 1997 release "19-sixty-97". From his outpost in the jungles of Mexico, CanBe synthesizes the sounds of the locales that made all the difference: Tom Jobim's swinging 'new thing' in early '60's Rio de Janeiro; Brian Wilson's LA circa 1966; London, from the Zombies to Bowie to Captain Sensible; and his very own Southern California of the early 1980's. Come listen to what he's learned along the way.

Not for the faint of mind, this is one of the more intriguing CDs I've heard in the last couple of years, with echoes of Brian Wilson and Revolver-era Beatles over stripped down beach punk. Most of the sounds you don't see coming, yet it works.
