notes

Cale Hawkins is a 16-year old musician from Bemus Point, NY. He started playing guitar when he was 7 years old, and piano when he was 10.

More instruments followed and while his main instruments remain guitar and Hammond B3 organ, he also plays drums, piano/keyboards, bass guitar, bass keys, and several brass and woodwind instruments.

In November 2007, Cale Hawkins won the Memphis Bound Blues Competition in Buffalo, NY which qualified him to represent the Western New York Blues Society in January 2008 at the "International Blues Challenge" in Memphis, Tennessee. He performed three times on the legendary Beale Street in Memphis.

In November 2007 Cale Hawkins also released a 10-track solo CD entitled "Chrome". "Chrome" incorporates a variety of genres into its ten songs, including rock, jazz, blues, hip-hop, and funk. On "Chrome", Cale plays guitar, Hammond B3 organ, bass, drums, and sings.

Cale Hawkins joined the Infinity Performing Arts Program (a extracurricular music program based in Jamestown, NY) in May 2003 and has been involved in musical projects and ensembles ranging from jazz to rock, classical to hip-hop, and bluegrass to blues. He also works as an organist at Blackwell Chapel AME Zion Church, and is a member of the Jamestown, NY band "Midas”. His own original music may be described as a blend of rock, jazz, funk, R&B, and blues.
