  • We love "Harp and Shamrock"!

Internet Music Radio, "Gone Fishing for Blue Skies", loves the Harp and Shamrock world of Cady Finlayson.

  • Pure and Heartfelt Irish Celtic Folk music at its Finest
    author: MonkeysWhoDream.com

"Harp and Shamrock" is Irish Celtic Folk music at its finest. Difficult to point out a particular one as there is an excellent selection of melodies marvelously executed, but the the title track is a must listen. I enjoyed the poem "A Madness to His Method", just felt the american accent was overwhelming it, but that is probably because my ears are european..

  • Only Disappointment Was It Ended - Awesome!

After hearing Cady Finlayson's gorgeous fiddle-playing on the CD Take Two (with Sean McCabe) my expectations for Harp and Shamrock were high, and I was not disappointed. Cady's latest effort is terrific and I found my only disappointment was that the CD had to end! With a good mix of music, Cady's band is every bit as skilled as she is. You'll hear everything from hornpipe music to a waltz to a song called Going to Milwaukee which is a fun, easy listen. Don't miss the title track, Harp and Shamrock/Crock of Gold for a funky, unique musical arrangement that still somehow manages to have a traditional thread running through it. There is enough going on in this CD to keep things interesting without too much of a departure from the good stuff that people expect in a Celtic album. You'll hear the reels and jigs, but this is not background music. Save it for a day that you can listen to it uninterrupted so you can enjoy it fully. It is just that good.

A perfect followup to "shines like silver". Good blend of authentic irish music.

  • "...a powerfully moving CD bursting with pure and natural talent."
    author: James Lane, HotIndieNews.com

With melodies that range from joyously playful reels to sweet haunting ballads, "Harp and Shamrock" is indeed a CD that breaks past it's Irish Celtic roots and implants its' soul into world music lovers around the globe....Cady Finlayson and crew have given birth to a stylish blend of American Folk and Irish Celtic songs that are guaranteed to warm the heart of the coldest corporate executive in America... Of course this CD also has a healthy dose of very uplifting numbers as well, such as "Going to Milwaukee", "Moving Cloud/Fair-Haired Mary", and the almost jazzy "O'Dowd's Favorite (Reel). Harp and Shamrock is a powerfully moving CD bursting with pure and natural talent. -James Lane, HotIndieNews.com

  • ...an album that deserves full attention from World Music Fans
    author: Tony Bates, 3WBC

"There are many so called Celtic influenced artists around these days, but let me assure you that Cady Finlayson tends to stand head and shoulders above her peers. The traditional tunes are arranged in an exacting manner that does not betray their origins and Cady's self penned numbers give life and joy to their very being; mix all of this up with a touch of world music and you have Cady at her best. Harp and Shamrock is an album that deserves full attention from World Music Fans as well as the traditional Folk and Celtic followers. Go buy!" Tony Bates, 3WBC, Victoria, Australia
