notes
"Shines Like Silver" has something for everyone: Spirited Irish fiddle tunes, American folk melodies and a few worldbeat tunes for those of you who like to groove.
It features the vibrant fiddle playing of Cady Finlayson, enhanced by the artistry of some of Nashville's top musicians: Elkin Brown-acoustic guitar, Hunter Lee-uillean pipes, tin whistle, Jim Roberts-percussion, Tim O'Brien-mandolin, Kevin Ryan-bagpipes, Dan Immel-double bass.
Cady Finlayson's musical background includes classical training (Mannes College of Music), Irish fiddling, and a deep connection to the American folk music of her childhood.
Based in New York City, She fronts a five-piece Irish band (Cady Finlayson Band) and also performs as a fiddle/guitar duo (Cady Finlayson & Vita Tanga). Cady has performed in 33 states and at Irish festivals across the country. When she's not performing her own shows, she can be found playing for the Police Pipes and Drums of Bergen County.
Her other CDS (also on CDbaby) include "Harp and Shamrock", which was featured in Irish-American baseball film "The Emerald Diamond", and her latest release, "Irish Coffee" (Spirited Irish fiddle with a global twist").

This wonderful little CD will take you back thousands of years... to a time when
author: Dick Metcalf, aka Rotcod ZzajThis wonderful little CD will take you back thousands of years... to a time when (both) joy and sorrow were somehow more poignant. Cady's spirit does indeed shine, & your ears will serve as portals for her emotionally charged playing, to be sure! Sure, we've all heard "American-Irish" tunes before, but I'll venture to say that you've not heard anything with quite this much verve & insight lately. There are 15 tracks that span a range of feelings as old as the human race... something today's musical scene needs far more of. I enjoyed this a great deal, & give it an immediate HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for listeners who want more than packaged pop glitz. A very solid musical experience
lively foot tapping music
author: bill taylorI liked the variety of instrumentals but would have been happier with a little more bagpipe music.
