notes
Mike Smith and His Cadillac Cowboys have been playing together in and around Ann Arbor, Michigan, in one form or another, since the early 70's and have enjoyed a loyal following through the years.
The band plays a mix of Western Swing, Classic Country, Boogie Woogie and Rock 'n' Roll, a conglomerate style which has been referred to as "Swing 'n' Roll".
It is rumored that once Anton Scalia rolled his eyes when he heard "Swing and Roll." "Those Cowboys are so cool," he said, they must be synthesizing the emotion, the time and the beat into what I would call 'Adult Saloon' music for the discriminating adult with a beer in his or her hand." In short, good time music.
The Cowboys have thrived all these years playing in local joints and at local shindigs. A band to be seen and heard. So, in an effort to recreate the typical Cadillac Cowboys listening experience, the tunes were recorded with no overdubbing, no punch-ins, no re-dos.
This CD is a live in the studio recording.
As a listener, to do your part faithfully, simply turn it up, sit back, and sip a beverage of your choice.

Good-time honky-tonk rockin-back memories
author: MargeWhat a treasure. Love the authentic sound of real-time recording with no fancy overdubs. This brings back memories of all the wild times, good times, honky-tonkin', hard-workin', rockin'-back, and even some of the lonesome blues times at the timeless place that was once Mr. Flood's Party. Only two complaints - wish there were more solos, and wish there were liner notes so listeners could raise a glass to each musician's unique artistry on each cut. I'm only giving this four stars until the musicians agree to cut a reunion cd so we can revel in some more midwest music.
Authentic, passionate, well-played good-time music.
author: T. CipherAn eclectic selection of tunes from different genres, which all seem to meld together to form a seamlessly entertaining disk. Quite remarkable. These guys are all good players who obviously enjoy each others company. So much the better for us. This is toe-tappin', beer drinkin', get on your feet and swing, music.
