notes
Bassist, Songwriter, Arranger and Producer Bryant Wilder began his career in music 26 years ago in The Bronx. His interest in music was forged, in part, by the daily mid-afternoon band rehearsals of his cousin who lived in the same building. One could often hear the funk as it saturated the walls of the old tenement, traveled the dimly lit corridors to Bryant's room and cultivated a musical spark in his own heart. The band's bassist, a certain Puerto Rican Joe (also Bryant's earliest Bass influence!) was the center of a musical attraction for Bryant, and he termed him 'the funkiest cat alive'. From that point on, the bass was it for Bryant. And play bass he does!
He has been playing in NYC area churches since he was 15 years old. His work also includes touring, recording and/or performing for Missy Elliot, The CD Hawkins Singers, Jonathan Dubose Jr., Robert Lowe & Generations, New Kids On The Block, Shirley Caesar, Rev. Timothy Wright and the Grammy Award winning Tri-Boro Mass Choir. Recently, he has appeared on Saturday Night Live w/Missy Elliot and BET's "Bobby Jones Gospel" with Monique Walker. He has also worked as bassist for the house band for Sony Music New R&B Artists Showcases.
Bryant has performed on many of the world greatest stages, including; Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall and Madison Square Garden (MSG). He has also played MSG's Felt Forum, The Meadowlands Arena, PNC Performing Arts Center, Nassau Coliseum and the Westchester County Center.
Bryant always says, "100% is never enough" and asserts that, "Being an accompanying bassist is fun, but I know there is much more depth to the music that I create and want to play". He also believes that success is not predicated on what you already know or do, but what you are willing to learn or enhance. Therefore, he has founded "PluckWild Music"; a production company that is devoted to making the music that people want to hear. The productions incorporate both synthesized music and a level of live musicianship that he knows music lovers are ready for.
Bryant's debut CD entitled: "The Right Track" contains 15 ridiculously funky instrumental tracks. He has blended his thunderous funky bass playing with his unique production style to craft a brand of music that is rooted in earthy grooves and syncopated rhythms. This CD encompasses a variety of musical genres including, Funk (naturally), Fusion, R&B, Gospel, Hip-Hop, Salsa and House.
Guest Musicians: Nathaniel Townsley III (Drums), O'najee Alan Gumbs (Piano), Willie Brown (Guitar), CD Hawkins & Barry D (Keys), Vicki Genfan, Acoustic Guitar, Reggie Young (Bass), Angel Fernandez & Raul Argaz (Trumpet).

Knockout SLAP!
author: YukioThose who love SLAP should listen. Bryant's SLAP is the highest in both tone quality and the technique. When the sound is heard, it becomes refreshing feelings. The tune is mellow and groovy, too. It is my most favorite album.

author: Keith CopelandA very impressive CD by bassist extraordinare Bryant Wilder!!! Solid grooves, great chops and skillful writing and arranging make this a great listen for musicians and those who know good music when they hear it. As a bassist and sound man for my church, I am just as impressed with Bryant's recording and production skills as I am with his bass playing!!! This is a clinic on making a clean recording from home!!!!!!! YOU GO, BRYANT!!!

author: Greg S.If you love the sound of the bass, you HAVE TO get this CD. Each track is played to perfection and comes with it's own brand of energy and fire. I'm only allowed to give it 5 stars but it is well worthy of 10 stars.
Awesome!
author: Ellis L. AbramThis CD is great. Great musicianship and writing and arrangement. As a solo bassit trying to break into the business, I was inspired to follow suit and use my gift to glorify the Lord! Excellent work. Look forward to the next album.

author: Randy J.This CD is great. I never heard of him but a friend asked me to go with her to one of his concerts. I was amazed at his performance and his band, so I picked up the CD. WOW! The musicianship, the music, the production are all top shelf....just as good as the concert, which by the way was off the hook!!!!
Angel of mercy!!!! The funk is out!
author: Tom ZThis guy is definitely rooted in music that has soul, groove and funk. There is no doubt he has skills and a gift! I took a chance with this as I typically do not buy bass player albums, very glad I did!

Wonderful mixture of the old and new...
author: Monique R. BellThe combination of Jazz, Gospel, Spoken Word and Funk makes this CD history in the making. It is Excellent and a must buy. On "The Right Track" every track is a hit. It entails just the right mix to earn a spot not only in my collection, but in my sound system's rotation.
I was blown away! Funky and cool. It really vibrates. Bryant sizzles.
author: Alex W. BusseyAt first I thought it was going to be too new age, but was I wrong. Talk About funky and high strung mellow, this music floats, dances and caresses. It appeals to all the senses and makes one very happy to be alive. I can't stop playing it.
A must buy for all jazz fans
author: Jeff WoodcoxBryant Wilder is the main man for jazz bass players. His music, lyrics, bass playing and vocals says it all. This cd belongs in everyone's jazz collection.

Amazing cd, amazing musician
author: Craig CalvertThis really is a must for all bass loving people, this guy is seriously funky and the intro into track 1 is pure genius.
Church boys ARE funky too!!!
author: Andrew SwiftYes, church boys ARE funky too. Top production, top musicians, and a healthy dose of the F-U-N-K! The B man really goes slap-happy and lays it down on this, his first solo project. Bryant, what else can I say except, "Nice Logo!"
WOW!!! He brings it on EVERY track
author: R. RobinsonBryant delivers a full spectrum of audible pleasure from a soulful, funky perspective.
Funky, but not JUST funky. A hybrid of styles...
author: Dr. Scott MosherThe unifying theme here is FUNK. Fusion funk, jazz funk, salsa funk, spoken-word funk, pop funk, slam-dunk funk, and acoustic funk. "Fuzzy Wahzzy..." is one of the definitive highlights of the CD, and this track is tight, man. I am also really diggin' the fusionified grooves of track 7, "God's # in Completion" which, here, his number is 7/4. There's a nice dynamic between the slower, vocal pieces and the upbeat phunk tunez. Slammin'!
The hottest gospel instrumentalist ever!!!
author: Shawn DavisFrom the funky first track "Church Boy R Funky 2" to the soulful "Something Down Inside of Me" this album has the makings of greatness. Uplifting grooves and tight basslines make this project something special. A definate must have for the gospel music lover.

I've had the great privilege to be at Mr. Wilders debut in NYC. I've also had the opportunity too work with him on a few occasions... And as a drummer, I've got to say, he is one of the funkiest bassist on the planet today! As far as the CD goes, there's not a day that goes by without a full play... For me the CD touches every part of the soul and spirit. It's a must have for the world today! Keep up the good work bro. Ciao
