Cobb Bussinger is a composer/arranger/producer presently living in northern California. This CD, Breath of Life, is the first in a series of solo piano CDs he will be recording in the near future.
Having been in the world of electronic music and other genres for so many years, it has long been his desire to return to his first love, the solo acoustic piano, to record a series of melodic and meditative CDs. He has taken a near-minimalist approach with this recording, and written simple, open melodies and arrangements with hopes of allowing the listener’s mind and body to relax and release tension. Many of the themes and variations are improvised, thus creating a free-flowing movement throughout the CD.
Similar styles are David Lanz, George Winston, Jim Brickman, Debussy, Satie, etc.

I have been using this music during my online shows for meditation and it is stunningly beautiful. Cobb is a wonderful composer and the moment I hear the music it puts me in trance and makes me feel loved. Cobb has a special way of telling a story with his music. I know you will feel the passion in his compositions and piano.

Working in electronic music for so long left Cobb wishing to return to solo piano and to work on his own music. That need and longing is tangible in this lovely collection of twelve original piano solos. The music is open, melodic, and uncomplicated, and was composed with the purpose of letting the listener’s mind and body relax, releasing tensions. The music is warm and loving, like a musical comforter to snuggle up with and just “be.” As a point of reference, some of the selections remind me a bit of Wayne Gratz (one of my favorite composers for many years), although not many of Gratz’s recordings are without some kind of accompaniment to the piano. Cobb obviously has t
