A delicious blend of the orchestral and the ambient. Eccentric rythms and strangled vocals with a couple of OOOH's in all the right places. Captivating and charming without putting you to sleep. This is absurdly good music.

Short, but oh so sweet
author: BrYanI'm as picky as they come when choosing CDs to buy at random. I'm a tight-wad. but anyway, after about 2 hours of trying to find one CD i would buy, i decided The Bursers were it. it's SO worth the money. Yeah, it's only 4 tracks, but i've listened to it so many times it's not even funny. it's a kind of "ambient" that you could let repeat for hours and still enjoy. the chord progressions are extremely thoughtful and engaging, yet no element of music overpowers anything else. every part is perfectly balanced and set in it's rightful place. like me, you'll write The Bursers a letter wishing for more after you've heard the EP.
FRESH....NEW....EXCITING!!!

I happen to subscribe to the theory that comparing newer bands to older, more "famous" bands does not take away from originality, nor does it mean that there's any less innovation going on. So I'm going to say that if you consider yourself a Bjork, Air or Goldfrapp fan, you're going to freak out over this album. I promise you that. And yes, there are moments that are clearly Bjork-inspired and others which are more Air-inspired but the point is, this is intoxicating music that causes you to forget to breathe. The Bursers deal in ambience and gorgeousness the way wishing wells deal in wishes. There is an over-abundance of magic and emotions worn on shirt sleeves, unapologetically, in the most breathtaking way possible. Prepare to melt.
