Melodic and emotional but defiantly not emo, driving and aggressive but not quite punk or hardcore, Burnthe8track are unique in their own right."

notes

In the two years since the world-wide release of their debut album The Ocean on Century Media records, Winnipeg based Burnthe8track, comprised of brothers Derek and Jason Kun, and brothers Sam and Ethan Osland, have taken the world by storm. Propelling their turbulent live show through Canada, the U.S., and Europe they have opened for bands including Sum 41, Propaghandi, Comeback Kid, Ignite, The Misfits, and The Ataris. They have played major festivals including the Vans Warped tour, and made appearances at industry showcases including CMJ, JunoFest, and NXNE. The band has had two videos in rotation on MuchMusic, MuchLoud, MTV2, MTV Europe, and VIVA Europe. Their songs have also appeared on the soundtracks to ESPN’s NHL 2K5 and MTV’s Cribs.

In April 2007 Burnthe8track will return to Europe with Ignite and Death by Stereo playing Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, and a much sought after show at the legendary Groezrock Festival in Belgium.

This list of accomplishments would never have been possible had Burnthe8track not been completely committed to playing and making their music without fear.

2007 will see the band confront “fear” all over again, this time through the release of their Curve/Universal music debut –Fear of Falling Skies. From the lead off single, The Great Divide, to the final whispers of 1949, this album is a tumultuous ride through personal struggle, political despair, and imminent environmental disaster that somehow, like the calm after a storm, leaves the listener with a sense of hope. In spring 2007, let fear take over your life.

Out standing CD, I've enjoyed every track which which is too often not the case. Particularly track 3 about the twin towers disaster (I think) is great, both musically and lyrically. Thank you Burnthe8track, I've got my fingers crossed they'll be coming back to europe this year.
